| Thank you for what you did for him. I have such a new-found appreciation for fosters and rescues. I only had Feather/Ripley for 3 days and letting go of her was one of the hardest things I've had to do and I even knew the people I was giving her to were amazing people.
My cousin told me that fostering and rescuing is often a thankless job and no one ever understands the pain of it as well as the highs. Well, thank you, Brian. Max is, was, and always will be so lucky to have had you in his life. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

My cousin told me that fostering and rescuing is often a thankless job and no one ever understands the pain of it as well as the highs. Well, thank you, Brian. Max is, was, and always will be so lucky to have had you in his life. Thanks Tori! Fostering is a lot of highs (none greater than saving a life) and lows (having a permanent foster for 5 months die with cancer) but it is by far the most needed resource in the rescue world. Max as loving as he was to people, he was not socialized well with other dogs. He ended up traumatizing all my boys and still a month and a half removed has them on edge around sweet Topaz our newest pack member. None of them play like they used to at home or at the dog park. Hopefully Topaz will help restore their trust. Part of the reason we adopted Topaz was to give us a reason to not foster for a while . Now with four of our own (the city limit) we are pushing our limits, physically, financially and emotionally of what we can endure. Having fostered for 5 years now our boys need a break. We will still be active in rescue, transports, evaluations, photos and crossposting, as well as volunteers at outreaches and events. |

Thanks Jenn! We were at our wits end several times but never thought of giving up. We were going to have to board him daily while at work had we not found a home. Couldn't risk any more altercations. |

| Thank you for all you do...for Max, and for ALL others that you have fostered and found homes for. I know Max will be forever grateful that you did not give up on him. I also cannot forget to recognize and thank your wife and 3 boys. After all, they were all part of Max's rescue.
You all need a break from fostering - not at all an easy task. And I have no doubt that you, with the help of Topaz and wife, will restore your boy's confidence in a short time.
Congratulations to you and MAX!!

Thanks Claudia! I have no doubt my boys will get better, Topaz is persistent in wanting to play. I'm very sad about the decision as foster homes are so important especially here in Oklahoma where no husky rescue exists but my dogs welfare has to come first. |

Part of the reason we adopted Topaz was to give us a reason to not foster for a while . We will still be active in rescue, transports, evaluations, photos and crossposting, as well as volunteers at outreaches and events. Everyone needs a break, now and then. I completely understand that. After Karma died, I wasn't sure I could do it again. I've noticed that with the dogs, sometimes they get ansty. It's like they think they are going to be leaving too, atleast with mine. Sometimes it's best to take a break and let everyone settle down and get back to normal. It is a thankless job, most times, but it is never more rewarding than seeing a dog that would have died in the shelters or on the streets, in a happy, loving home. Thank you for what you did for Max, and what you do for rescues! |

| That's awesome! Yay Max!!! Well done Brian. And just to echo everyone's thanks - you did a fantastic job with Max (and your previous fosters). And you are right to take a break and put your own dogs first. |
