can anybody help me to see if my pup is a full husky annoyed as only just bought him and feel he isnt. but dont know how to upload a pic and just joined this site today for advice and help

here is a pic of my puppy he 10 weeks old

from what i can see, your pup does not appear to be a purebred. The eyes are gorgeousss blue, but the head seems a little to blocky and round. I can't be sure though. If you had a picture of him standing up it would be easier to tell.

I say Alaskan husky (fancy word for sled dog mix). Regardless so cute!

i was thinking siberian x japanese akita but not so sure. you dog is beautiful

Yah not a full bred husky but is def still adorable.. I think it looks more like a husky hound mix.

The face markings have me leaning toward the Akita which in my opinion are wonderful dogs. Read up on the Akita though as they have their ways of the breed just like other breeds have their characteristics.

We have several Akita walkers that stroll in our local park, one is friendlier then Casper the ghost, the other I've been told not to approach as shes moody.

Definately looks mixed. Looks like he will be a big boy.

Ps- there is a test you can get done to know for sure.

I don't know. I look at him and I think Mastiff / Husky. While the Akita can get the black mask, too, that tail looks too straight to be either husky or akita.

he has a curly tail all the time apart from when he eats lol. i am more on the huskyx akita but for the past week he has started with a white mask that is going up his nose and the black has gone more lighter like hes getting old :/. also he howls alot so am not sure what hes mixed anymore. i have been on google and found a few pictures that are similar in colour. like the agouti siberian husky (dirty face husky) but i have also found pictures of huskyx akita pups and he looks simalar but they are more chunky so i aint got much faith lol. ill stick with an huskita for now

Huskies can have their tail straight. Doesn't mean it would last in a show ring, but just because the tail goes straight doesn't mean it's any less husky. Tail curling is part of a personality thing too.

To the OP: Why does it matter so much what he's mixed with? I'd say definitely husky but you've most certainly got a mix on your hands. Even with huskies, the mask is going to change drastically while the dog is young so that doesn't mean he's any less husky or akita. Both go through color changes as puppies to adults. Howling is also a perfectly normal trait of huskies, so I'm not sure why you think that makes him less likely to a be a husky?

I misphrased. His tail doesn't seem to "fan out"/fluff like an Akita or Husky tail would. However, upon looking over some puppy pictures, I take it back. Apparently, the fluff look comes later. The body still makes me think Mastiff, but I'm less convinced, so I'll rescind my two cents and go buy a Coke from 1910.

in the picture where he is at his bowl, look at the bulk and muscle on the hindquarters already!?

I have a husky mix but she is a wonderful dog regardless trust me, the husky personality will likely shine through! So smart, but a little sassy!

having a husky mix doesn't not bother me in the slightest. i was saying he howls lots and dont know what hes mixed with any more coz people are saying he aint husky coz of his tail. to me he can be a husky x anything and he would still be my baby. hes a great dog but have a very bad temper when he wants to and is very very clever. hes just turned 11 weeks yesterday and he can already sit, shake, role over, high 5, and when i ask him to touch the palm of my hand he does with his nose. he knows not to chew my feet if i tell him "leave it" so overall a pretty amazing dog. i was a little annoyed due to being sold a dog that isn't full breed and basically been scammed of my money and here in the uk, we have dog laws on what animals we can keep, plus i have to older childer and was a liitle weary due to the breed because of temperament etc. becca ur puppy is stunning
