Is this normal Husky behavior or is mine just being a bully or normal 6 month old pup?

Hayden has always played rough like this. He'll run up real fast and dive bomb the dog/puppy followed by a nip. When we go to the dog park he always greets smaller dogs or puppies like this. I don't believe it's aggressive, but it annoys a lot of people when he does this, especially when he makes every puppy cry by doing it. He's doing it to Nicky and making her really scared. He especially does it when he see's her trying to play or starting to run. He'll them roll her, make her cry, then she will start growling at him.

I always tell him "NO!" and try to grab his collar and give him a time out, but he's so fast he will usually escape me. I'm thinking of keeping him on a leash when he's around her, so I can correct him right away. Is this ok or does anyone else have a recommendation?

PS. I didn't correct him in the video, because I wanted to show what he would do if I allowed it. He wasn't doing it as rough as he usually does, I think he knew I was filming him Is this typical Husky behavior? 1625187496

From the video it seems that he's just trying to play. Kody does that too. Nicky is just little and it will take her some time to get used to his play. If he tramples her then definitely correct him though.

Cheyenne and Mishka do that to Rodeo all the time, he likes it though and enjoys it. He gets right back up and keeps running with them. Honestly I would try and keep him from doing that just until she gets a big bigger and isn't so nervous of him. Really try to be on top of him when he does that. I know it's difficult! Rodeo spent most of his puppyhood on his back...

Storm does that at the dog park to the little dogs. Some of the little dogs her tries to play with can hold their own and they will nip back and he loves it but the owners have a big look of concern on their face, 'Your big dog is attacking my little one!', so I end up chasing him off but some owners just giggle. Ginger also does this to Storm at the dog park too but then Storm tries to run away!

Delilah did this to Cato at first. I don't think she understood that when he was 10 weeks old he was really fragile. She was just so excited to have her own pack she wanted to play with him all the time. A month and half later, he gives it right back to her. We had to correct her at first, just because he would cry in fear, but once he got bigger he was fine. Even 6 weeks has made a huge difference.

When she's older he will get his payback. When she's comfortable I'm sure she will annoy him all the time to play.

Chase does this all the time. Run back and forth making the other dog cower down or roll over on their back. At least this sounds like its typical behavior!

My lab does this to Balon. She isn't being aggressive, just excited.

Good to know, thanks everyone Smile

I'm starting to believe it is typical, because now Nicky is starting to do it back to Hayden lol
