Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

So we bought some bitter spray because Snow is not listening to leave it right now and she's trying to eat the living room. But just some advice... wash your hands after spraying or touching anything you have applied it to. I can still taste it....

It's awful! You will probably be tasting it for days even without reapplying it. Next week, if you touch what you sprayed this week and then lick your fingers, you will still taste it. My son declared the entire house was nasty when Sabaka was a puppy!

yes but if used correctly, it works! My lab used to be ankle biter, especially my sons, so they sprayed their ankles with it, and guess what she got that message!

That spray didn't wok for us.

I hated having that awful taste in my mouth 24-7 and I found working with my puppy's 'off' command was much more rewarding. Not only did she stop biting my hands and feet she will also leave things in the house alone and stopped picking up objects in the yard. I feel I taught her boundaries that a spray wouldn't.

I can still taste it on my mouth. Is it weird that I wanted to see what it was like? I'm like that with my kids, orajel for example. If they're going to have it in their mouths, then I feel like I should know what it tastes like too. Snow might as well wear clothes. She's like a third child.

Mine too!! Neptune was driving me crazy with our gate, so I sprayed the crap out of it with the bitter spray. He looked right at me, and proceeded to lick every last bit of it off. Devil dog. LOL

Yeah I tried it on the curtains when they were puppies...curtains got eaten Shocked

I've used the cayenne and vinegar in the backyard to deter digging along the fences. It works for a while...
