Water bowls

Anyone know of a good water bowl that will prevent them from picking it up. I have a regular metal one and my new pup likes to pick the bowl up and spill the water everywhere and I am trying to break that now. Ive tried a larger bowl and he plays in it.

We have one of those giant water fountains since we have the 2 dogs and 2 cats. It's too big to throw around, but Ghost will splash the water out from time to time.

They make weighted bowls and also bowls with rubber on the bottom so they cant slide them/move them to flip them. Don't get bowls with lips either as they are easy for dogs to pick up.

I would get an elevated feeder- anyone who has met my two know they love to play in bowls or lounge around with their paws in the bowl if they are directly on the ground, but I have two elevated feeders and they don't mess with them at all aside from their intended use.

I use a heavy saucepan that the handle came off of for the water bowls. Sounds ridiculous but it keeps them from playing with it. Elevated feeder/waterer may also work.

2nd.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that our fountain is giant, but there isn't a lip for Brewer to grab a hold of. I think the capacity is 3 liters or so...

I use a gravity waterer with a filter. It works great for Cato - but he still digs in it from time to time. i think its a puppy thing.

My water bowl is an metal pot that doesn't have handles on it! It is a big one and perfect for water. I drink the tap water so does maggie!

I would also recommend an elevated feeder. Saber would also lay down and stick his paws in the water bowl when he was a puppy. I switched to an elevated feeder and haven't had a problem since.

We use that same one in the crate, love it.

Outside the crate I have one like this. He has never picked it up and the rubber ring keeps it from sliding around.
