Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| Hey Everybody! Some of you may know that I have been looking for the right little brother for Keeonah for some time now. She loves it here at the house, but I could tell she was getting bored and sad that she couldn't do a lot, especially with rainy season upon us here in the northwest. After speaking with many many owners of dogs, puppies, adolescents, and some generally sketchy people, I finally met a guy who lived right near me, and a few days later, I adopted Oakley! He is 10 months old, black and white, with a bi-eye. His previous owner gave me complete documentation of every vet visit, as well as his AKC pedigree. He is neutered and chipped, and he came with crate, food, bowls, toys, treats, pooper scooper, and we negotiated the asking price in half! Oakley is a pretty wiley boy, and was cooped up in an apartment with nowhere to go, and hardly any interaction. As a result of boredom and stress, he was pulling patches of fur out of his hind, as well as looking just a liiitttle bit thick. His owner knew that he would be better off here, and was very open to negotiation after learning a bit about me. I thought that he would be a little... reserved , coming into a new home after spending his whole life with someone else, but oh no! after about 30 seconds of introduction with Keeonah it was nonstop play for 2 hours before they both passed out! He seems to love it here, plus he gets a built in playmate:) Being 10 months old, he is mostly potty trained, but isn't really giving me cues like Keeonah does. He has a fairly reliable sit, but that's about it. I don't think he really had a lot of structure in his old home, and it has to be pretty confusing taking commands from some random new dude, but we will get there! All I know for sure is that both of the pups look happy all the time, share well, and take a lot more naps now! Sorry for the long introduction, but I am very excited! |
