I've always had dogs growing up and throughout my 20s but never even considered a husky. (It was danes and labs all the way for me). I was actually turned off from the sled dogs after traveling to a couple of dog shows with a friend who had samoyeds. Shortly after my last dog died (old age) I met my hubby, who was a huge husky fan but also dogless at the time. We went for years without a dog because he didn't want a lab; I didn't want a husky; and we didn't have room for a dane (the only breed we both had prior experience with and both liked). Well, it turns out he is more stubborn than me, and I finally caved in and agreed to get a husky.
