So every once in awhile, Dragon will poot.. and lets just say its silent but violent! Is it something he could have eaten? I am feeding him Blue Buffalo Wilderness and have been for about 3 weeks now (we switched from Natural Balance Synergy) but he still has not taken very well to it and still has runny poop almost every time he goes. Do you think I should try switching him to something different? I'm afraid his tummy is upset all the time and I just don't know it.

Karli is on Blue Buffalo Freedom and she gets stinky poots too but all her poops are normal. If his poops are off then maybe try one of the other flavors. Which flavor are you using, it may be that.

I think the wilderness is lamb and something. Not sure we keep it in a big roller bin and throw away the bag.. I switched because he was having on and off runny poo on the synergy and also itching but he doesn't have fleas and he's been vet checked so I know it's not worms. Ever since we changed his food it's just gotten worse. He used to have some pretty solid stools but now it's every poop that's bad. Just at a loss.

I know Megan's Yuki was having a hard time on wilderness so she switched to TOTW. i don't believe she's had issues since. I takes a couple tries to find a perfect fit for your pup. Still trying to find one that Kay does well on.

Yeah I thought I'd switch again to TOTW but I know some people have a problem with diamond. I just want him to be happy and feel good. He will squat outside for awhile and I know his little Tummy is hurting. Honestly if he does great on TOTW I don't care what rumors fly about the brands manufacturer.

How fast did you switch his foods? If it was instantly that's maybe why he's having runny stools.

We gradually switched it mixing it in with the old. But he's been eating just the BB for at least 3 weeks now. I figured the switch might have made his tummy upset initially but by now he should be used to it I would think.

He could still possibly be adjusting to it. I'd give in another week or so and if it hasn't hardened up, maybe try a different type of food.

Luna has the same issue, but Wilderness is very high in protein and that may cause the flatulence. Her poop is fine, she's a healthy weight and it hasn't adversely affected her health so I'm not worried.

Hmm I have to agree with Kelly. Give it another week, and if nothing changes, you should definitely try another type of food.

Wilderness puppy is actually chicken based, and a lot of dogs have issues with chicken. Lulu, our Cocker, gets horrible gas with it, though Ghost was fine with the Wilderness puppy. After 3 weeks he should have adjusted, so it may be an issue with the food. It could be the chicken, it could be the manufacturing process, or it could be one of the other ingredients. I would suggest finding another food, TOTW has both an all life stages and a puppy formula, and there are several other high quality, grain free foods available. We have had great luck with TOTW (High Prairie gave Ghost gas), and are now trying Earthborn because we're experimenting a little with a rotational diet.

I agree with Meredith.

TO expand, I have a very chicken-allergic female and in the beginning of her allergy, she present symptoms as such. I'd get her off the food and try Acana or Earthborn. #1 choice is Acana.

If you are looking for an easy to access option, Solid Gold's Barking at the Moon is a good choice. FIsh protein, low glycemic food. My brothers lab does fantastic on it.

I will look into Acana. I've also thought about Orijen but I'm not sure how well it does with sensitive stomach pups. Price isn't really a factor, BB was already expensive. As long as he is getting what he needs to feel and be healthy I'm happy. I just don't like seeing him obviously uncomfortable every time he needs to potty.

Acana is Orijens sister food - Orijen should be fine as long as you take it slow. But try the Acana its just as good IMO
