| Hello everybody, i am new to this forum and i am looking for help. I have a 2 year and 3 months old Siberian Husky. Here is the problem , I am a kid and my mom is the one that is feeding the dog , 3 times a day now the thing is she looks to skinny, if you touch her back you can feel her back bone , if you look at her body you can see her ribs and I got sick of this, he is my best friend and I want him to feel good. I play with him everyday and take him to walks every 2 days , he is pretty happy from my point of view but i need to start training him to (I asked for advice in the training section to) . The real problem is that I have no income to buy the dog better or more food or to take him personally to the vet and my mom doesn't want to invest more money into him and I don't get along with them either. So please give me any idea on how to get the dog healthier and put some weight on him ( i will not give it away or anything similar, i love him to much)
Thanks for reading ! |

| Honestly the only thing I can tell you is to make sure he's getting enough to eat or taking him to the vet to rule out any health disorders, I can't think of anything past that. Maybe try to get a part-time job to help out with the expenses if you're really worried about it? Good luck! |

I live in a small time and looks like nobody here wants to hire a 17 year old ... About the vet, they ask for lots of money that i don't own. About how much food should i feed the dog a day? I know that my mom feeds him other stuff that from the store , shes sometimes making him a weird thing with stuff that remain in the house like bread , meat parts that she doesn't cook and she doesn't through them away when she makes the food she gives it to the dog ( is that even good or healthy?) and so on... |

I spent every week for two years from when I was 16 until I was 18 looking for a job until I finally landed one. It takes persistence, I was constantly calling in on my apps, going in to talk to the managers, and asking when I could get an interview. It seemed pushy but it was the only way to make me, someone with no experience, stand out against all the other applications. Vet fees really aren't all that expensive but when you have no income it may seem that way, mine charges $30 for a visit and meds run $10-30, one paycheck would cover that for me even if I only worked 10 hours a week. Although it may not even be an health issue and may just be completely related to his food and how much he's getting. Raw or home cooked meals cannot be beneficial if they are not properly researched and done correctly to ensure the dog gets the proper nutrients. Do you know what type of food she normally feeds him when he doesn't get this random stuff? And how much of it? Also, how much does he weigh at best estimate? |

| Is his stool not hard and compact? If it's loose it could be worms causing him to not gain weight. Or could be from the random food... I had a full time job at 16- you just have to be persistent and willing to do anything! Gotta start somewhere! _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| I got no idea what kind of food it is because it comes in plastic clear bags and i think its somewhere around 1 Euro - 1.20 Euro a KG ( sorry don't know to calculate in pounds and dollars)
Weight well i really cant tell but if i put my hand around his chest/stomach and pull him up and keep him tight to my body i can hold him with 1 hand and doesn't really feel that hard.
About the stool. The funny thing is that at home everytime i see his stool is always hard and compact but when I put him the leash and take him for a walk he always stops for a dump before we get to far from home and in the past 4-5 days (thats 2 walks for him) his stool was like diarrhea, like pooping water and smelled really bad (dont know if the smell means something but just put it in there in case it does) |

| Do you have a camera or phone that can take pictures of his body from the side and top? That would help.
If he's had consistent diarrhea for 4-5 days and it smells foul that isn't a good sign and would be in your best interest to convince your parents that something probably isn't right and should see a vet. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?!
