Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| Hello Everyone, The last time i posted to this site was shortly after my best Friend Akayla passed away in Sept (just shy of his 16th Birthday). Did take some time, and fostered 2 Sibe's in Jan/Feb of this year. After finding homes for them we were ready for a new Dog to add to our pack of 3. Enter 'Chevy', whom we quickly renamed 'Cheveyo'..had to find somethign that sounded similar to make it easy for her. Cheveyo is a 10 Month old Sibe, surrendered by her Owner for one of the usual reasons..unable to handle. We originally fostered Cheveyo for the first 4 days, but grew attached to her SO quickly. As we already have 3 dogs we needed a dog whom would blend in well with our 'pack', Cheveyo is the dog for sure, she has brought new life into our 14 year-old Hound cross Taz, he wants to keep up with her a sbest he can, and she knows when he has had enough. Nest she moves to our JRT Katie, another dog we adopted a couple years back, and Katie is just learning how to play at age 12...seems she was never well socialized, BUT Chevayo will not take no for an answer, it's hilarious watching her do her best to get Katie to like her. Will be taking Cheveyo to basic obedience in 2 weeks time. She clearly has had some training already, she sits, comes when called, shakes a paw, understands 'this way', leave it', etc. We really cannoty understand totally why anyone would give up such a sweeth Girl. We contemplated going to a brreder for a pup, but as we have fostered so many dogs over the years (approx 15), and both love to find the right dog a new home we agreed adopting was again the best option. She was spayed 10 days before we adopted her and has healed up fairly well. She so looks forward to here 4-5 good walkies daily, and she gets a lot os time with me alone as i work from home most of the time and am able to keep here entertained. she is also helping me get back into shape. We live in the country on 50n acres, and have tons of traiks to walk on, as well as lots of crown land next door....so she looks forward to her new walkies often. just wanted to share, and hope the 3 pics come through well John & Rose Moffat, Parry Sound, Ontario. |
