2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. I have had Kira for 3 weeks now, She is 2 years old and seems skinny but her weight isn't too bad at 21kg. When I collected her she was feed on a bad diet of scraps and cheap asda smart price food Crying or Very sad

I tried Kira on Skinners kibble which she eat but she seemed very picky at eating it.

Now I have started her on NatureDiet and she really loves it plus im rotating flavours to keep her happy. The feeding guidelines say 1-2 trays a day which are 390g each but thats for a normal size dog. I have read many threads saying huskies are not massive eaters and to feed them on 60% of what guidelines suggest.

At the moment I am feeding her 1 1/2 trays daily in 2 intervals so 585g in total and 2 raw chicken wings every other day.

Does this sound good as I think she would eat more NatureDiet on top of this but dont want to over feed her Cool

She may still bulk up/fill out a bit over the next few months. If her spine, ribs aren't sticking out she's probably okay. Trying to convert your amounts to some more familiar nonmetrics...it looks like you're feeding her 1.2 lbs of the NatureDiet per day.

Lots of Huskies are self regulators and will eat when they're hungry and not eat when they aren't. If you think she should be eating more, try it, see if she'll eat it. If she does, keep an eye on her to make sure she's not gaining too much weight, getting runny stools (sign of overeating) things like that.

Huskies are also a lean breed. My boy Demon has a pronounced waist and looks thin at times but he's at a healthy weight.

Thanks for the reply Very Happy

The feeding guideline under dog bodyweight on the NatureDiet website says 875g for 20Kg

http://www.naturediet.co.uk/adviceadultfeedingguide.html

Obviously as I have read a husky should be feed 60% of any packet recommendations, Do you think I should follow this quotation or be aiming at a higher percentage?
