Nothing like a 3am wake up to jump kick your Saturday! Eddy and I headed out at like 6:30am on the trail head with visions of our first summit for the season. i would have data for this hike but my phone died... so i have Eddys info. We hiked 9miles RT, gained 3000 feet of elevation and were out for about 6.5hrs and no summit was reached
we hit snow. we did have nice weather and got in a great workout as it was a steady up hill the whole way and spent some time at higher elevation which we needed. the pups were enjoying themselves as well. there are talks of trying again later in the season when the snow should be gone and starting at a different trail head.
so for now here are some pictures of our day out!
trail starts right up the mountain
first patch of snow
ridik and limbaugh
thats eddys leg in the snow! remember he is like 6' tall, we had to turn around it was to much work to keep falling into the snow and pulling our self's out.
cool twisted tree
where we were trying to get to
walking to find a lunch spot before we head back
non summit shot!
lunch break on the rocks
heading back, at least we had a trail to follow now!
the pack for the day
leading the way back
fighting for the last snow spot.
i took ridik so i had the 3 huskies walking back
till our next adventure....
