2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Eating strike Empty
PostSubject: Eating strike   Eating strike EmptySat Jul 06, 2013 11:57 am

Dragon our 8 month old husky has lately decided he does not want to eat. We usually feed him Taste of the Wild (pacific stream formula) and he used to eat so fast we could barely get it in the bowl. We have switched twice to the High Prairie formula and he did fine on it the first time, but this time its like his eating has gradually slowed to a stop. He will take 2 bites out of it and walk away. He begs a lot for our food but thats nothing new. What's the deal?
Also, Prince, our balinese kitten who is around the same age has decided not to eat as well. Usually he comes running and meowing for his fancy feast in the morning and night but lately he hasn't been eating any of it. We woke up this morning and all of the can i put out last night was still there. Usually he can't get enough of it??? This is all kind of a sudden thing. Help!

I've had the same problem with Selena and she is almost 8 months as well. The vet said it is nothing to worry about as it is a common husky thing. They will sometimes skip meals or even go a day or 2 without eating! They recommended I leave her dry food down at all times and that seems to work a tad better. If she goes too long without eating (she vomits the yellow bile) I mix some wet food with her dry food and she will eat it that way. Also, I'm not sure about where you are but here we are going through a heat wave of 100+ degrees and she definitely does not care for food in this weather!

That could have a lot to do with it.. we live in Mississippi so there's always heat in July! He really loves yogurt mixed with his food but we haven't gotten any lately, we may go get some to mix he would probably enjoy how cold it is. thanks!
