| Not sure if this is the correct thread but it seemed to fit the best. To make a long story short, my colleague's parents had their granddaughter staying with them. She is a "compulsive liar" as I have been told. Anyway she stated to her grandparents that she was just "sitting the dog for the weekend" after randomly showing up with a husky. She then told them that they gave it to her. They have decided to take the poor girl to the pound as there has been no contact from owners. Is there a rescue in South Eastern Michigan that could take a Husky or set up a foster? Trying to keep it from going to the humane society. Any information will be helpful. She is very well trained but is having an issue with peeing inside. They say she squats down but nothing seems to come out some of the time. She is approx 6 years old. They are waiting for a response from the owners until wed. After that they will want to get the dog to a shelter/rescue. I have told them I am looking, unfortunately I am unable to foster at this time. Hopefully we can find this beautiful girl a good home if they owners just dumped her. Thanks in advanced everyone!

| You might check out Onyx Husky rescue in Grand Rapids. They are the only rescue I've heard of in Michigan. Not sure if they are still in business or not. Hopefully someone with rescue connections will give you better info soon. She's beautiful and I hope you can find her a great home. _________________ |

| The squatting like she's trying to pee but nothing is happening makes me think possibly a UTI? |

Normally I would agree with you but their situation is interesting in this. The dog was just brought in by their granddaughter. who was living with them, without word or warning about it. That's why I trying to do what I can to either find a foster for her or to re-home her. Just trying to do my part to keep a beautiful girl out of the "system." Also forgot to mention That I would be willing to take a short drive to get her to a rescue/home. |

| Dahowlers is right, this girl SERIOUSLY sounds like she has a UTI and that may be the cause of her squatting indoors, UTI problems are very very painful ((i have had my fair share)) and if they go untreated they can threaten the dogs health so make sure she gets a check up soon c: good luck finding a home for the pretty girl. |
