I heard that an athlete spotted a wolf walking around a Sochi hotel. Amused and curious, I decided to check it out. Looking at the photos, it looks to me like the animal is not a wolf at all, but a dog. Most likely a Siberian husky or at least a mutt with Siberian husky mixed in.

This story is going viral and stupid lines are coming out like:

As a joke, this can be amusing. But it's stuff like this that gives the northern breeds a bad name and influences the minds of people to be scared of animals like this.

I just saw this story as well, and was like are you kidding me? Like why is this going viral. It clearly looks like it is a husky mix of some kind. In no way to me did it look like a wolf.

IDK, I definitely think it looks very wolf-like because of it's long nose and the way it was walking. But it also has some huski-ness to it as well.

it very well could be a husky, but there are all kinds of dogs that look like wolves for example
Saarloos wolfhound
Northern Inuit dog
Tamaskan
Czeckoslovakian wolfdog

or it could be a low or mid content wolf hybrid

It looks like a stray husky to me! could be wolf like looking because its a stray

This comment cracked me up:
"Don't worry. It's not a wolf walking around your hotel. Just a stray dog!" Okay then, Russia.

I personally think that it might have some wolf in there. Maybe not full wolf though. It seemed rather large for a husky and a long narrower snout. Lol, oh Russia.

the longer narrower snot is what made it looks less husky to me I laughed at first then relized it was going viral and went

is it just me or is it a little difficult to find the punch line?

it seems to me that in order to save face they are claiming that the whole thing was a joke.

Jimmy Kimmel is notorious for this stuff. He also did the "girl caught on fire while twerking" thing that went viral. It was a poorly played out joke on the problems they were having. I don't think they were saving face, I think he just admitted it was a hoax after it went viral, like the twerking thing.

Kümmel just talked about it. It WAS actually a wolf, but it was a domesticated American wolf. The handler and wolf were there.

I was pleasantly surprised on all the casters that said "Nah I really think they may be a husky." Lol.

I watched the clip and was also surprised on how many newscaster said it had to be canine, husky, mix, malamute. I was also surprised to find out that it was a 80-90% content timber wolf rescue. I guess my bias that it could not be a wolf in a hotel and made me think it had to be mostly canine.
