1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. We taught Achilles high five and shake. Smile When he's shy, he will still do high five for strangers. He will also do it in his sleep. XD

My husband taught Layla shake first, and then she got so used to holding her paw out that I just put my hand up for a high five and said "high five" and she made the easy transition. Smile

Lol @dahowlers, I swear some of the faces these dogs pull! That one became quite internet popular lol. We constantly go hiking, and to different lakes. We always bring our really nice camera to pull some good shots, and EVERY TIME we snapped a photo of her this day it was completely silly looking!

@icreds, high five and shake is genius to teach them especially since so many strangers adore huskies. Instead of them hyping her up and causing her to jump all over them I always tell them HEY SHE WILL SHAKE YOUR HAND!!! So everyone gets excited and its a nice gentle calm meet instead of a crazy one ...No matter how good she is on the leash, once someone hypes her up it is seriously like walking a dolphin.

@capellalayla, they learn so wonderfully easy and fast, I never had a dog that would not only catch on so quickly but without practice just remember a month down the road! They are awesome! also in another one of my threads you mentioned having a pup on the way! Was he or she born yet!!! You better post pictures.

Unfortunately we've been having terrible luck with pups since around February. The first litter we were on the waiting list for (from Layla's breeder) didn't take. Then the litter that was probably the one I mentioned came last week but only one pup was born and she is already spoken for. There are more litters coming up this summer and fall so we'll keep an eye out, but as of now we haven't had much luck. It's OK, though. When it's meant to happen, it will happen. Smile

Yes! Haha. High five was pretty easy. It was close enough to shake like Layla said. Just held my hand up and bam. First time go!  Smile

Good idea! I've already started amassing a bunch of toys for the new pup, whenever he or she comes along, haha. Yeah, I'm crazy. Razz
