2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Okay so this is probably going to be a tad long so sorry but i need help/advice so i didnt know i was getting mishka and my dad got her for me without me knowing the guy he got her from rescued her from a shelter who apparently saved from people trying to make her mean anyway im scared of how she acts around other dogs (i do know huskies are very rough and can be known to look vicious but are just playing) if id known my dad was going to get her id ask him to ask the previous owner how well she does with random dogs so now im sitting here with a dog afraid to let her socialize and that shed hurt the other dog i do know for a fact that she doesnt like little dog (im guessing they look to much like cats) but she dosent understand when shes way too rough and when to stop (i have two older dogs and they dont play and end up fighting with mishka and mishkas ended up drawing blood on one) im so terrified but i know i shouldnt be also ive tried everything to get her to learn to come when called but i cantseem to get her to listen she knows her name but ive tried treats toys running away from her but she still wont listen to the slightest and another thing i can barely control her when we cross paths with a dog in back yard or tied up barking and she starts to bark or when another person is walking their dog and it starts barking how can i detour that ive tried on by but i cant get her attention i need help before all of this gets very outta controll or i lose my furbaby

My advice would be to go to to the vet first of all and make sure that there isn't any psychological damage from the poor training she has received previously and get vaccines updated.

Second would be to get into an obedience training class, or get a personal trainer. There you can identify situations an issues you may have with her, and someone to teach you how to correct and handle those situations. Over time with a trainer your girl will get better.

How old is she? I agree with Lucy about the vet. Start there and then contact a trainer or get into a class. It'll help the both of you Smile Just make sure you're comfortable with the trainers techniques and try to find someone who has husky experience Smile Then, after she has a clean bill of health- exercise, exercise, exercise!!! Smile Don't worry- it will all work out Smile

Huskies are a little hard to get to "come" anyway depending on their personality. Even well behaved ones may not come.

Also I would take the dog through a lot of walk training and get her to respect your commands. You really have to correct her when her body language turns away from being calm. I would have to agree with asking a trainer for help with her especially since considering her past bad training and drawing blood from another dog is never something I would want to correct by myself (i'm kinda petite! lol).
