Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I've been visiting the forum for a while :-) Your huskies are all gorgeous! Just wanted to introduce our boy Tchembe (chimbay) to your wonderful pack but tried seven times following your instructions and still could't get a photo to upload. Consulted with a tech friend... no luck - perhaps not compatible with Mac?

Do you have the online address of the photo? If so, post it or send it and I can help. As far as I know, you have to post it online first (photobucket, flickr, even Facebook, etc.). You can't post it from your computer files straight to the forum. Not sure if that's what you're trying or not.

Hi!

Thanks! We did figure it out. We thought hitting the "copy" button copied the link for the photo!

Awesome dogs btw.

We lost our long haired Shepherd in January. We console ourselves with the fact that he had lots adventures hiking in Maine and the White Mountains in NH. Tchembe will be making his own tracks up there this winter :-)

I did post a photo of the boy (Tchembe (chimbay) post swim). I've never had a dog that loved water more.

You actually can post a computer file straight to the forum. If you are in the reply box, the fourth grey box from the left has a little icon that looks like a polaroid with a floppy disk (apparently we are still on outdated references...lol). If you click that, you can upload your picture (choose the picture size for websites, that way it's not overwhelming). Click "Host It" and it will take you to a screen with three addresses you can copy, sometimes it takes a minute to get there. Use the middle one. I don't use the copy button provided, I select it and Command+C and then paste it into your reply.

I use a Mac, it's definitely not that. Maybe your browser? What are you running?

*oops, look like you figured it out

Welcome! We're from Billerica. Where in Mass. are you?

If you're interested, there's a Meetup group called Boston Snow Dogs that we are part of that meets pretty much every week all over eastern Mass. and southern New Hampshire for fun events with the dogs. It's open to all breeds but most of the members have Huskies. It's a great way to learn about and participate in mushing activities like sledding, bikejoring, scootering, skijoring, etc. No previous experience is necessary. Here's their Web site if you'd like to check it out: http://www.meetup.com/BOSTONSNOWDOGS/

Thank you for the warm welcome! Cortnie, we love Maine. We spend a lot of time hiking around up there. We try to spend a couple of weeks backpacking in the back country around Katahdin.

Thank you for the invite Layla. We definitley want to get Tchembe into ski and bikejoring. We'd love to meet some experienced people :-) We are in Wellesley Hills. We are also interested in looking into agility when he is old enough. I'll definitely check out the link. Huskies are so addictive. I already can't wait to get another one but we want Tchembe's training to be on much firmer ground first. Not sure I have the mental stamina to keep up with two geniuses at once  Very Happy
