2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Driving me crazy! Empty

Hello everyone! I'm the owner of a 18 month old husky named Tango. Tango is full of energy and can't sit down for more then 30 seconds but that's not the problem. When I'm at home everything is great but once I leave for work and my fiance is in charge of all 3 of the dogs Tango starts to act up. He messes in the house even after he goes outside. He marks his territory everywhere, and he's fixed. Tango is a master escape artist too. He likes to literally break parts of the privacy fence to get out. He can jump over fences, jump on garbage cans and much much more. His favorite thing to do is tear up the trash though and make messes in the house when I'm not home. He literally can't be by himself for 30 seconds without him causing a disaster. He's 55 lbs and he loves to walk, jump and literally push his body Into you. Myself I don't mind but it is causing a problem in my relationship and I won't ever get rid of him. I thought of putting him in a Petco training class with other dogs but I don't see how that will help. I do tend to walk him a lot and i have a big back yard. Please I need help!

What do you consider a lot of walking?

I walk usually a few miles a day or a bike ride. I also do a treadmill too for super hot days.

My older dogs are getting 3-5 miles a day so expect a younger dog to need at least that if not more. They also need mental stimulation, so training, brain games, puzzle toys. The mind needs to be worn out just as much as the body. You are also in the teen phase where they become brats and don't want to listen. Go back to as if he were an 8 week old puppy and basically start over. Tether him to you so you can make fast corrections if he's getting into something he shouldn't. Gate him away from having the run of the whole house. Don't leave him out in the yard unsupervised. You may even look into a long line so if while you are out in the yard and he goes to hop the fence you can step on the line and stop him before he gets over. Everyone in the house has to be on the same page taking the same responsibility. So if you do all the work with him it isn't going to help you fiance any when it comes to handling him. Your fiance has to work with him as well to build a bond and respect with him.
