Hi there guys

I have a 2 month old red and white husky (Rory). I’ve been training him and he responds to the sit stay down come gentle up ok no heel commands. However, sometimes if there are other people around or if he’s chewing a toy and sometimes just like that he will not listen to me. I use time out and no and putting him in a separate area as punishment but I’m not sure if and by how much that is working. Any ideas suggestions??

He’s being a typical husky! That will never go away, huskies are known for being stubborn and ignorant! And I’m sure every one here will say the same!
As the saying goes...

You have to give him something that's more interesting than what he's doing like a treat. Huskies are notorious for only following commands if they know they will get something out of performing a command. Using punishment for ignoring you won't do anything.

Try using a toy he likes more than the one he's chewing on, or a treat, to get his attention onto you.

Reward good behavior, redirect bad. It will take time to get training with distractions down. You can practice by going to the park (if able) and working through commands on leash. Reward with treats/kibble or by allowing the continuation of a walk and sniffing/exploring. You can use the leash to redirect if being ignored. When someone comes over you can use that time to train as well. Have the people ignore him and only pet if he is patient and sits. Everything he wants to do he must earn. Run through commands to get the daily meals. Must perform to go out the door. You don't have to make your dog fat with treats to get good behavior out him. You just have to work on making good behavior the routine to life.
