PostSubject: Husky / Malamute found in Fountain Hills AZ needs good home    Husky / Malamute found in Fountain Hills AZ needs good home EmptySun Apr 23, 2023 7:16 pm

hi everyone

I am new to this forum so hopefully I don't mess up something. This beautiful male husky / Malamute mix was found wondering around town. He had no collar and no chip. He was picked up by Rescue Pals in Ftn Hills around the middle of Feb. 2023 and no one has called about him.
He has been medically checked and is good health - approx. 4 years old and neutered. Knows basic commands - rides great in a car - knows how to use a dog door and is house broken. Did I mention he loves belly rubs !!!Husky / Malamute found in Fountain Hills AZ needs good home Thumbn10

We are trying to find him a good home in a cooler climate and hopefully someone on this forum can assist.

I would attach a picture of him but not sure how to do it on this forum. If anyone is interested please reply back with your information and I can send some of his pics.

If you click on this link it should provide a pic - I hope !!

Thanks in advance to everyone

Hey, you done good, your picture worked. He is a good looking boy and I hope you find a good home for him.

Thanks for taking care of him and thank the folks at the rescue for their part. From your description someone's got a real pleasant surprise in store for themselves.

I don't know if you're a Husky person or not, but Huskies are more concerned with the people they're with than with the temperature. I live with a Sibe, an Alaskan and a GSD and my Huskies tolerate my desert living without a problem. (Er, I live on the Chihuahuan desert just outside Big Bend National park)

Im up in the alpine desert and they handle 90 degrees in summer just as well as the -20s it hit this winter. Best of luck colorado has several husky specific rescues and does alot of out of state into colo stuff.

Sorry for your loss

A trainer who specializes in service dogs saw and met Timber and said she has a client who needs a service dog and that Timber might be the dog she has been looking for.

Timber started his training this past Wednesday and is knocking out of the park.

We have our fingers cross that he will graduate.

If he doesn’t met the requirements then I will be back to this forum with that information

Thanks to everyone’s support

Service dogs have that laid back attitude that comes naturally to most Huskies. Now getting him to do what you want, well, that may be another issue "You want me to what??"

Hope everything works for him (and you too of course.)

Huskies do have a lay back attitude, but are more than capable of becoming great service animals. Plus if they don’t have a job they tend to make trouble.
