I don't know what has gotten into Jack lately but he is testing his boundaries with human food around. 2 weeks ago at a friends birthday party he came up to me as i was eating some chicken and took a piece right off my fork! he was so fast about it i was shocked. then last night ken had 2 chocolate zucchini muffins on the night stand and jack got on the bed and just looked at them we told him no and to leave it. well as we were watching a movie he sneaked over to the stand and took one! he had it just in the front of his mouth and booked it downstairs with me right behind him. i think he ate it whole! he knew he was bad and i pointed at his crate and he went in, i closed the door turned the light off and left him down there. funny thing was he did not make a sound, he knew he was bad. left him for like 10 min and went back to get him and he came upstairs and tried to suck up to us!
these dogs.... never a dull day!

Maybe it's the weather, but Koda has been testing his limits too!

Weird, yesterday my Dakota counter surfed and stole some food for the first time in his life! I was so shocked at his behavior.

Odin snatched chicken earlier.

Speaking of snatching food...Mya picked up half of a sub on our walk yesterday and ate the entire thing!

My Dakota is constantly the worst! She's always looking for a handout and it doesn't need to be actually handed to her! We cannot leave her alone in the kitchen or area where we eat unsupervised. Demon's not quite as bad although he has snatched chicken before...

Maybe they're all anticipating fall/winter and the cooler weather! So they're getting all crazy like.

Sounds like he made it out better than when he chased my cat upstairs on Saturday...

I truly think this is the case for mine at least. We go through this every fall/winter, as soon as the weather starts cooling (which the temps have started dropping in the past 2-3 weeks) his energy level sky-rockets as does the mischief that goes with it.

Same. Appa has started counter surfing this past week, only when we aren't looking. He got two chocolate muffins and half a peach before my wife caught him. He went into time out with no complaints afterwards.

Definitely something weird going on with the huskies this week. frankie has been all out of sorts. After yesterdays escape ordeal, he actually had the balls the sit and scratch at the front door. He's never done that before, they always go out back or he comes out the side door with me.
He also tried to steal my son's chicken. It's still hot as hell down here, could he be getting the winter spazz already! And he knows he's walking on thin ice right now.

I'm sure they know somehow when it is coming!

Well, he knows what "timeout" means already and starts running away from me so that I can't stick him in there. He'll run and run and finally jump on the couch, put his butt up in the air and go off barking and wooing as in saying "noooo I don't want to". I then have to drag him in there. This repeats itself about 3-5 times until he stops jumping on me, biting me, and barking MInd you this is all goes down after their evening walk. Crazy dog!

I just started though so I know it's going to take a while. At least he knows what "timeout is".

She was on the dining room table getting her froggy. LOL

I can't put Wilow in the bathroom for time out becuase she has learned that she can pull the bolts out that keep the toilet attached to the floor! I had to put her in timeout inthe breezeway 3 times the other night until she got that the bolts are not her toys!

Hmmm....this is a problem I am not familiar with.

We don't even need to do timeouts with my pack. Verbal corrections are all we need, they know from my tone and body language when they have done wrong. All I have to do is let out a stern "Hey!" or "No!" and walk toward any of my dogs and all three will roll over and show me their bellies. It truly amazes me every time. That's for all you who doubt positive reinforcement...I never alpha roll, do timeouts, or physically correct my dogs ever and look at the response I can get from a simple verbal correction!

Koda has only stolen food once in his life about a year and a half ago and it was on a low coffee table.. Rogue has yet to steal anything, she just looks longingly
I'm glad I don't have to do time outs because I'm sure they'd both whine about it and I can't stand what it sounds like when dogs flip out and have a screaming fit, lol.
