I'd like to start taking Winter in the car with me without having to use his crate. I bought the Canine Friendly Vest Harness today. We fitted it at home, and he was totally fine wearing it. However...Winter twisted his way out of it pretty quickly and popped it right over his head while I was picking up my CSA share and out of his sight for not even two minutes. Not good. To get home without having him freely climb the walls of my Forester, I tied knots in his leash to shorten it, and then slipped the seatbelt through the wrist loop. Thank goodness I only had a ten minute drive home. Whew.

Kurgo and Ezydog both have great pet harnesses that come with seatbelt attachments. You could probably get a medium for Winter in either and it'd last possibly through adulthood(large kurgo was WAY too big for Koda, and the Ezydog large fit at the smallest settings I think)! I like my Kurgo more than the Ezydog, aside from not a ton of color selection!

Thanks so much for the recommendations, Heatherlee! I'll check 'em out. I really want to take him with me, and I want us both to be safe. Thanks again.

What specifically do you like about your Kurgo more than your Ezydog, Heatherlee? Some of the models of the Kurgo are not getting great ratings on Amazon because of quality issues - lots of fraying stitching and such. Any more info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

We have the Kong harness. We just moved up one size. I bought Stormy the medium when I got him and started at the smallest setting. He hasn't slipped out of it (yet). He has been wearing it since his second car ride. And that was from Pittsburgh, PA to Augusta, GA.

If the harness you get doesn't have anything, also consider some sort of pipe to cover the seatbelt connection. Isis figured out how to unbuckle her seatbelt, and she's only been wearing her harness for a few weeks.
