What are you guys using to take the masses of husky hair off your clothing??? I am using masking tape (not sure if it called the same in your part of the world - maybe you call it duct tape). The specialised tape rollers here in South Africa are extremely expensive and not cost effective. Yes I do brush The Bob every day, apart from the fact that it seems to get worse as one brushes - but nothing seems to help. Took Bob to the vet today for his bloods and he sat on my lap - and by the time I got home I looked like a Husky. Bob seems to shed all year round - obviously when he "blows" his coat it is worse. Any advice on this one would be greatly appreciated.

i gave up and accepted the hair on my clothes and everywhere else in my life! but for the times i do care like for family pics this weekend i have a lint roller to use with the tear off sheets, and we use a ton of tear offs. i would say tape is the best if its the cheapest. or the vac.

Same here. We use the sticky rollers, but other than that just accept the husky hair being EVERYWHERE! When i say that it's EVERYWHERE I mean everywhere!! Even found some in the shower the other day...

I have done this also, I even just lift the vacuum onto the bed and do the blanket. It helps to a point. I need to empty the lint trap in the dryer so many times when I do laundry just to try and catch it.
Lint rollers in the house and cars all the time.
The hair never ends and sheds worse if Libby is nervous in anyway. How are they not bald???

yep, same here! I even shake the sheets outside before putting them to wash and still have to empty the link trap like 3 times in one dry cycle and STILL there's hair on the clean sheets when they're done drying..lol!!!

I use those lint rollers - basically masking tape on a roll so the sticky side it out. Hair isn't too bad in my house, but my girl likes to sleep in the bed with us and that's where the hair is the most. Other than that, we vacuum and sweep regulary, and only my male likes to hang on the couch and he's not shedding. My female doesn't blow coat, she just kind of sheds...but my male sheds in clumps/tufts and I don't think he'll have a coat blow this time of year, but come April, I think he'll blow coat like he did this past April - enough to make pillows everyday while he's blowing coat.

Using a strip of masking tape works too.

I throw my comforter in the dryer on low or 'air' (no heat) and that usually gets a lot of the fur off the comforter in between washing.

We fight it, there's no giving in here.

We bought this:
Hair. hair, hair and then more hair! Help ?imageid=30866

The powered brush works great, without the powered brush it's "ehh..."

We also have this, which works great for removing fur from upholstery:
Hair. hair, hair and then more hair! Help 0aXyP-F-y4wl6YA3ROmrgXzn6d2BL3NDvBwaX3oC2piiEU9E0IbKRQroJnHEaCNZrz5rMY7SKdW6mnKjJjDsNn83oPnHlWjZzfBqtxeN-20YDjk_eywTt-_ygVvk1gp0o_J9TharPde0ddXjDf56ReaschN-M97gqsANAakw

And then an arsenal of sticky lint rollers, and fabric lint removers. Not to mention Appa gets brushed ever single day. I figure if we can keep it in the brushes it's less on the floor. We have an undercoat rake, slicker brush, and a "shedmonster" from walmart. The shedmonster + slicker get the majority of the use.

I just bought an off-white jacket and an off-white vest for fall. I'm trying to only wear the blacks, browns and navies that I had from last year to places that I will not be embarrassed about the amount of fur clinging to me. I still wear the dark colors on walks around the blocks and such. During our three-year "dog break" we had moved away from always thinking about what husky fur would look like clinging to our purchases. One of the worst pre-husky purchases was black sheets for my son's bed. Even though the dog is not up there alot, they are a mess!

Our theory is to just buy products that camoflage the hair, brush alot, use lint rollers, sweep alot and just learn to live with it. You will eat fur, wear fur and carry fur to other people's houses!! It's just a mess...

Even with all our determination I've found husky hair in my beard. At least it's a fair fight, we find my wife's hair on Appa frequently.

lol!

We have the same problem here. Aaron gets annoyed finding animal hair AND my hair all over the place. I just can't deny those long blond strands are mine...

The big problem for me is keeping dog hair off my uniforms. They tend to frown on that one at work.

I had tried to vacuum the Bobster - but all he did was try and eat the hose - and really did not enjoy that experience - so after reading all the comments here - guess I will just have to resign myself to the fact that everything under my roof - including visitors are going to be covered in dog hair. Sad Even the cats have his hair in their fur! Exclamation

This thread made me laugh, I don't bother trying to remove husky fur from clothing. It's one of those perks of being a husky owner. My chi girls end up covered in husky fur too. Laughing Normally I don't vacuum the sofa's but if we have guests coming then I will run the vacuum over them so guests don't end up covered in fur. I'm a dog lover but even I don't prefer to go to someone's house and get covered in their dogs' fur so I do my best to extend that courtesy to my guests. But when it's just me and my husband, we wear the fur proudly. Very Happy

Update on our vacuums! We looked into getting a small handheld in order to keep the hair at bay during the week. Picked up an Electrolux Ergorapido Ultra. It's a small stick vacuum with a handheld that pops out of the body. So far, it's fantastic! Much easier than getting out the bigger (but still small and still awesome Eureka Pet Lover canister)! It's actually kind fun to use! Don't tell hubby...

I am honestly very shocked to hear this. My MIL bought one of these for our other house in NC and from the first use I hated it. I found it wasn't nearly strong enough. I understand that it's a light stick vac but still. I went around vacuuming the hardwood floors and the darn thing left a good portion of the hair on the floor behind and it pretty much pushed around anything even remotely heavier than hair. For the few days we had that thing I wanted to bang it against the wall every time I had to do a quick vac with it. That was returned immediately and I've told everyone I know NOT to buy one. Ugh, I've never hated any vac as much as I hated that one. lol I'm glad yours is somehow working out for you.

Aevyn hasn't been too bad for the most part with his fur, although when it comes time to blow his coat it looks like perhaps he's destuffed another one of his toys all over the place.

The good news is that our couches are leather, so easily cleaned. And our carpets are off-white, so they hide it fairly well.

As for clothing though? Nothing works. Good thing was that at least we were used to it from our cats.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Clearly our dogs just think we look better in fur than anything else. Does this coat of Aevyn's fur make my butt look big? Wink

Was it the Ultra one? I hear this one is better. It's definitely picked up everything - but the best part is that it sucks up the hair vs pushing it around with a broom!

I think it was but I couldn't be 100% positive. Is the ultra newer or something? I looked up the ultra and it looks exactly the same as the one we had. The one we tried I believe my MIL bought it (and returned it lol) back in March of this year.
