male doesnt raise leg to pee

well Storm is over a year old now and still hasnt raised his leg to pee. He kinda crouches down. Is it possible he never will?

very possible! Our 2 boy dogs generally lean/crouch when they really have to go, but whey they are just marking they lift their leg. Since they are both altered, they don't do a ton of marking.

My boy does both he is fixed. I was told they need to be shown by another male I am not sure if that is true or not..

Bob never lifts his leg (even before the operation) even my other dog Frosty a samoyed never lifted his leg to the day he left us. Could be there were not a lot of trees around in my area.

My boy is 3 years old and has not once lifted his leg to pee. He does the 'lean into it' deal. Very Happy

Mickey and Odin are horrible leg hikers. Mickey is the worst though... He hikes up as high as he can go and gets as close to the tree he can get. Presses himself against it and stretches out his body. It. Drives. Me. Nuts. You don't want a dog who lifts!

Rodeo has just very recently begun to ever so slightly lift his leg to the side and bend while he pees. But it's very seldom. Cheyenne lifts more than he does. Shocked

LOL Dakota does the typical female squat, but she ALWAYS lifts her left hind leg just a bit off the ground...so it sounds like Mya's in good company! lol!

Kale has never lifted and he's almost 2 yrs. He does the "manly" crouch and lean. lol!

Violet my Doxie, on the other hand, lifts one leg, but only because she doesn't like the grass tickling her.... Rolling Eyes

hahahah so funny stories..in that case he will be left like that..I refuse to go outside and lift my leg and pee on a tree to show him..just kidding. This Sunday he gets neutered. I was waiting for him to turn 1 year old and had his rabies shot in April last year. So this is close enough. Going to ASPCA mobile clinic. They charge $125 for neuter and shots.

My parent's dog Max will only lift his leg if he's at the dog park "with the guys". Other than that he pees like a girl Razz

I think he did it once when we were up there too, probably trying to impress Ghost or something.

Melissa, Kristina, and Kim, Ghost most definitely does not lift her leg, but I think I'd die laughing if I saw her.

Cali will lift about 40% of the time, and she has been known to squat and lift the leg at the same time a time or two. Our lab rescue doesn't lift, he just leans in, gotta watch him because he sprays his front paws sometimes.

Kitty lifts her leg too! She has gotten really good at it. It started with just a little leg lift, then progressed to bushes and now she can pee on trees and telephone poles just like a boy dog. I think she lifts her leg more often then doing a normal pee now! Glad to hear she is not the only one though!
