Hi all, I need some suggestions for stuff for Ruby and Balon to chew on. They keep destroying all the toys lol. Right now I just got a holeeroller football, and a flying disk with a squeeky thing in the center. I was thinking of nylabones, but which one should I get? Thanks for any suggestions Laughing

If you find something indestructible, please let me know! I'd love to find a Husky-proof toy...

Seriously, we haven't had a whole lot of success with any toy, Ghost kills them all. The Chewguard toys generally hold up for at least a few weeks, but the other "tough" toys are gone in a day or two. Especially if there's a squeaker. All squeakers must die in our house Razz Nylabones are pretty good, but we have to replace them every few months. Good luck!

Unfortunately for us, anything indestructible is deemed uninteresting, haha. If it take too long to work through he won't play with it. This includes nylabones and antler chews. We haven't tried anything else since most really tough toys are more pricey. I don't want to spend a bunch only to have him not play with it.

Sorry for how gross this looks but my dogs love these nylabones from Walmart. They cost only $5.97 and last for months! All three of mine chew on these bones every morning and evening.

My two like the nylabones too. They don't stay looking pretty for long, but they last quite a while. You can get them almost anywhere. It really hurts when you step on them in the middle of the night though!

Natural, practically indestructible and VERY long lasting.

I got Willow a very expensive antler because everyone said they would last for months. I think she ate that thing in less than two weeks. She really loved it but was at it non stop until it was gone. I would get one again but mine would have to get timed sessions with one. Lol!

I agree that Antlers are better, but Kale has had his for 3 weeks and its more than half gone, and he doesn't chew it that often. Nylabones last WAY longer IMO. Kale doesn't like plastic or rubber, so I don't waste my money on Nylabones. Of course, Kale doesn't destroy toys so I have no room to complain lol Razz

My vet is not a fan of antlers, she said she has seen way too many broken teeth as a result of them.

Nylabones are just as hard as Antlers, they can chip their teeth on anything hard.

I think if you get the split antlers, they would not be as hard on the teeth.

I just got a Holee-Roller ball and we are loving that thing. Sabaka does not chew on it, he picks it up and flings it himself and then chases it. It's light and squishy enough for him to catch. It might be the first thing he enjoys playing with and so do we!

He also likes his Orka Jack. It's seems rather tough and he likes its crazy bounce. I also smear a little peanut butter in the holes if I want him out of my hair for a while.

Both of these toys are interactive toys and not the "sit in the corner and chew quietly" type toy. Sabaka is like Faolan was described; if he can't destroy it quickly and violently, he would rather not chew on it. He has a Nylabone and some antlers, but they are not used often. Sometimes he actually "asks" one of us to hold his bone so he can gnaw on it!! Lazy, crazy dog...!

the vet told me to only buy the nylabones that you can leave an indent with your fingernail on.

If you can indent a fingernail, then its soft enough for them to chew off a large chunk and swallow it possibly causing an obstruction. There are dangers with any toy or chew you buy.

I know I know, I thought the same thing, but I meant for the puppy, who still has puppy teeth, not the lab who can chew up a nylabone in .3 seconds lol

I always gave Rogue Zuke bones and bullysticks when she was a puppy to chew on. Took her a while.. now it takes her maybe 5 minutes, haha. I don't really think indestructible exists!

Opps! Forgot we were talking about a pup! haha my bad! yea the soft nylabones are good for teething, so are bully sticks, but I can't stand the smell tongue lol I got Kale the everlasting treatball for teething and he LOVED it. I think they make a grain-free cookie insert now which is nice. He loosened a majority of his baby teeth on that sucker! and I still have it intact! lol He destroys the large ones now though Sad

It's about time they came out with a grain-free Everlasting Treat Ball insert! I couldn't figure out what was giving Sabaka the runs when he was a pup and it was that Everlasting Treat Ball (I guess)!

I gotta praise the antlers too. Honestly, I would rather a measly chipped tooth then an obstruction. But for our pup we got a smaller one with the marrow exposed. That was a month ago - still going strong. For Delilah we got one tat was suggested for Great Danes. It's hardly got a dent in it, but she loves it. I say with Huskies, you go big or you go home.
