2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Hello,
I've been lurking the forums for a few months and finally decided to join. My name is Krystal and as you can tell from the title, I live in Richmond, VA. My fiance and I got our first Husky pup on April 7th of this year from a breeder outside of Richmond. She's an absolute joy as well as a typical puppy spaz. Her name is Harley Quinn. About a week ago, we rescued another, we call Emma Frost, from a bad situation. She lived in a run down home with no AC and 9 other dogs. Sad I couldn't say no to that. She's a sweet girl, very loving and crate trained. We were told that she was under 1 year old, but after some research, found out that she's actually 2. Regardless of her past, she's been a welcome addition to our Husky family. Well, I guess that's the intro. I look forward to reading more of the forum and I appreciate all that I've learned thus far. Smile

K.

Thanks for the welcome all! Glad to see there are other VA members here as well. Kelly, it's too funny that we have almost identical pups, save for the size difference!

Oh it's fun! I've been sporting my maroon and orange everywhere I can :-) (Although, I will admit I took the VT off my car as I worried about it getting vandalized. Rolling Eyes ) In reality, most current students have forgotten there was ever a rivalry and I only get shit (in good humor) from adults.

And yes, sorry to hijack.

Was she in Rockville, VA? We got Harley (the black and white terror) from a lady named Angie up near Glen Allen. Beautiful girl you have there, by the way. Everyone has lovely dogs. Huskies are so strikingly beautiful; it's hard to have just one!

YES! It was Angie! Well, I guess she's got some "terror" in those gene pools! I went there because she had a male (stud) from a guy south of here and after I got there I was not impressed, but walked away with Sabaka anyway Neutral

When's Harley's birthday? Sabaka's is Nov 17, 2010.

He's from a Landon and Sasha litter.

Wow! Small world! Half-siblings!! She's Landon and Haley's pup, born on Feb 7th, 2012. Harley chose my fiance; we couldn't say no... She's been awesome, though and I almost feel bad saying "terror". She obeys (for the most part) and knows sit, lay down, speak and shake. It's just the whining and housebreaking we're still working on and as long as she has her toys, she leaves our stuff alone. Smile Patience is indeed a virtue, hahaha!

Very Happy

Sabaka is our second husky and, boy, I really think the first one was WAY worse than Sabaka! He is SUPER energetic but we are older now and don't have the energy we did years ago! As long as he is exercised, he is pleasant. At 18 months, he rarely destroys things that are not his. He does enjoy the tissues from trashcans, but, even then, he only rips them into pieces and leaves them littering up the room! He is SO smart! We are not smart enough to come up with any more commands to teach him. Whatever we come up with he learns in a day. On a negative note, he is very mouthy and demanding! He is also way less timid than our first girl. He loves everyone and is very tolerant of our kids "messing" with him and his things. He really is a good boy!

So happy to find one of his sisters living a good life!!

Wow... Your pup sounds just like his half-sister, tissue-tearing and all. She can be very mouthy and demanding. She isn't afraid of much, either. With command training, she learned incredibly fast, faster than any dog I've ever seen, but at times, she'll only do it when she wants to.Typical Husky. Most of what I taught her she learned at 8-10 weeks. As much as she can rile my feathers, I love her to death. Now if only I could get Emma to listen to commands without having to tempt her with treats...
