It took some time, but the hubby caved Smile

He is somewhat of a nightmare, and killed a cat already (not here, at his previous house) but I think with some work he will be great. He is not house trained, and im pretty sure hes never had a bath...but he loves the water (unlike snow) and even went fishing and swimming with us today.

So far he LOVES the other dogs and my 2 year old little guy, and does great on car rides.

So.....here is Finnick. He is our final addition (because four dogs is plenty for me) LOL

Thanks everyone!! He has interesting markings all over him, and a weird brownish color that is trying to come out...I'm curious to see how his colors will change over time Smile
He's 5 months old, and the previous owner, who had him for less than 24 hours, told us that the owner before her bought him from a breeder in north Florida, and he was UTD on all shots....however neither of them had documentation, or even a rabies tag...would it hurt to have him re-vaccinated if he was really already done? It just seems kinda weird that there were no papers given to the second owner...and I don't want him to pick up something funky if I were to take him to the dog park.

Well you have to have proof of a rabies vacc in most states, as far as others he is still young, maybe a titer would tell them?

If he's just 5 months old I wouldn't assume the dog has had its adult series of vaccines. Whomever purchased him doesn't sound like they cared or knew enough anyway to get rid of him 3 months later.

As far as his vaccinations route, I would get him titered and then get him vaccinated for rabies for sure. You are required to have that one documented. But, if you titer his and he is all set I wouldn't pump him with more vaccines.

haha...I think Kristina is awesome for having that many.

After talking to the vet this morning he wants to do his full set of shots, starting with the first round of puppy shots (and chip) today..then three weeks he will get his second, then after three weeks he will get his final and rabies...then he will get neutered and be all set!
He doesn't like the fact that he has already been bounced around with being so young, so we are also doing a full panel of bloodwork just to make sure nothing unusual is going on with him.

He has an obsession with drinking water, but hasn't peed yet....so im hoping thats just me being..well...me...and worrying over nothing. He didn't come with any dog food, and the lady that I got him from said that she didn't know what kind he ate, because the person she bought him from just gave her some food in a bucket...but said that the night she had him he pooped 9 times in her house and it was runny (sorry for the visual lol) So i'm going to give him a bland diet for a few days and slowly introduce our kibble to him.

Sara - You are definitely right, I need to get my butt up one morning and go to the meetups.. I think im going to wait to get a few rounds of shots in him first...that way he has time to adjust to me, because im afraid if i take him now he won't come to me when its time to go haha
He picked up on his name within an hour, they were calling him Alli.....and he has a purple collar..so I can only guess they wanted a girl dog? lol
We've been taking Snow to the dog park off I think Apopka, im not quite sure of the name..and she loves it there.

Finn was so terrible for the vet today. haha They did an exam and his chip first..and he was fine, but when it came time to take blood and do the shots he was so bad. I ended up on the table with his big butt on my lap holding him like a baby.
The good news is his bloodwork came back normal...i was so scared something was going to be wrong with him...but turns out he is in great health..yay Smile

A titer is a blood test to see if you have immunity built up for a certain disease. I had to get one not too long ago to prove to University of West FL that I'd had all my MMR shots...
