Well if both parents carry the wooly gene and both somehow pass it to him then he could end up a wooly. But again, both parents would have to carry that recessive gene and pass it on to him. I dont think he looks wooly so i wouldn't worry. And if you check on the parents/grandparents if you can then you can see what the chances are.

Koda's coat was just like your puppy's and he is far, far from wooly. Rogue was also very similar once I got her on a good food and her coat in ideal condition- she's a little fluffier in some areas but not a wooly at all. I think that most people just have puppies with thinner and more "slicked" looking coats. I have never ran into puppies that were fluffballs like Koda was.
