Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Yes. That's true.

But, consider this...you WANT a puppy NOW. You buy the puppy from me. You rehome the puppy in a few months or couple of years. Then, eventually puppy ends up at Animal Services and is euthanized.

Well, I will breed again and again since you bought the puppy from me and I continue to get money from people like you that WANT something and then, just BUY it. I don't keep track of who buys the puppies I breed. When you buy it, it becomes your responsibility.

Will you keep if forever?

If not, then don't buy one of my purebreed puppies. That's the most I will do other than give it shots that are appropriate for its age. The puppies I have right now are 8 weeks old, I have 5 males and 4 females. All will have their 2nd set of shots next week, and will be ready for a new home. There is a small rehome fee.

Only contact me if you will KEEP the puppy forever. You can contact me here on CL by leaving your phone number.

this is on the pets section of my city's craigslist. wtf?

This makes me mad...i apologize beforehand...
But he says he wants people who will "KEEP the puppy forever," while also saying that "when you buy it, it becomes your responsibility." You made the puppies, you should be responsible for them and find them good homes (not just any one who replies to your CL add, or whoever will pay the right price) and you should also take back any unwanted dogs because YOU brought them into this world, it is your responsibility to take care of them. But all he wants is to keep making more puppies = more money = more dead animals in shelters. Thanks a lot random CL dude, you're making such a great impact in the world.

Most so called breeders only have the dollar signs in their eyes.

When I bought Anubis the breeder said everyone who gets a puppy form her is family and not everyone is getting puppies form her. I got Anubis when he was 8 weeks old now he is nearly 4 years and she did not call to ask how he is doing once.

Finding a breeder that is really how he should be is very hard to find.

There's a guy on craiglist here who says he's been breeding his huskies for four years and then says he wants to trade one for an IPAD!! I regularly flag those listings and wish I could do more. If I figure out their addresses, I post them up so people can report them to Animal Services. You can't breed in our county without a breeder's permit.

O_O omg, what I would do, (and what I did in my case) is pretend your interested, get the address to meet them then call animal services lol.

The guy I bought Saya from in the dominican republic did not care about dogs at all, He had them in a farm, full of ticks, and did not really care for them. When I got Saya she was underweight and was super shy. Now she does much better. So happy to have her. Honestly people in this world are sick. But you guys have really no idea how bad it is in the dominican republic, there are more strays than there are dogs in peoples houses. They don't even have animal control. A dog gets hit by a car, and people do not even bother picking them up :/
