Hello everyone.

My husband and I recently (a month ago) were able to get our first dog. We both had jobs where we traveled almost every weekend and neither of us wanted to get a dog until we were able to be home more and not have to put a dog through us being gone all the time. So I found a job where I can work from home if need be and there is no traveling unless i need to go for training.

So we went and picked out Jasper from a breeder close to us.

He is such an amazing dog! I've wanted a husky since high school. At the moment his biggest issues are biting, playing "catch me if you can" when he picks up something he knows he shouldn't have and jumping on strangers because he gets so excited.

He knows how to sit, stay, shake, and lay down and he's great on a leash. But if there are any other people or dogs he tends to not listen so well. He's getting better and I know it will take time.

And we have very few accidents in the house but still on vary rare occasions he slips up.

He loves going to the park and playing in the creeks and meeting the dogs that are there. We plan on taking him to a dog park that just opened but aren't sure if he's ready. He'll be 5 months on Oct 22nd. He goes for a 2 mile walk at least every day and sometimes it's longer and sometimes he goes for two walks. Fetch was something we never had to really teach him. He just did it on his own with very little persuasion. He loves to play but we don't have a yard (live in a town home) so we can't play outside Crying or Very sad
We are working on running on a leash at the moment but he's still so curious about everything we end up running about a block if we're lucky and he'll stop to smell something. Very Happy

I dropped my ball and didn't want to get it.

Laughing Yea he's really bad about grabbing socks (which if that's all he goes after i'm ok with it they're easy to replace) when i'm trying to fold laundry. Part of me really wants to chase him, because he's so darn cute when he half laying down but his butt is in the air and paws out and he's looking up and you know he's saying PLAY TIME!!! But I know it's wrong and sends a bad impression. But he wont just give up the sock either. Ignoring him and leaving his line of sight works pretty well.

Which i just read to do with biting so i'm going to have to try that.

Welcome! Watch for the socks! Anna used to do the same thing but one time she ended up swollowing the sock. We don't leave socks out for her to get to at all and she seems to have lost interest as well. Maybe it's because we made her throw it back up, guess she wasn't too pleased.

Well I just took away all my socks from Yuki.. no longer giving her any of those Razz I've been doing the same thing, any of my socks with holes in them I gave to her and she stopped taking my non-holey ones, but I wouldn't want her swallowing it so now the holey socks are in the trash xD
