2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

My son went to a sleepover today which was just a few houses down our street. We left the front door closed but unlocked and left Kaya in the house while we walked. I was gone for all of 2 minutes. Didn't take a key.

I get back to the front door........and it is locked. She must have jumped up after we had walked out and flicked the latch.

So, I start stressing. It's freezing cold and now I have to get my husband to leave work and come drive 20 minutes to let me in the house. I could hear Kaya on the other side of the door whining 'cos I can't get back in. Anyway, I start encouraging her to jump and lo and behold after a few times, she manages to flick the latch again and I could open the door (thank goodness!). Quickly phoned hubby to tell him not to worry (he was already on his way to the car).

Lesson learned - either take the dog or take the key!

Sorry, but I couldn't help laughing! I'm glad she was nice enough to unlock it for you before your hubby left work!

Razz Mya locked us out once too! She was jumping at the door and locked it! Thankfully my MIL lives next to us and there's a connecting door so we were able to get in through her house.

Kaya is a smart girl!

lol! too funny! I know at the time it wasn't though! Kale isn't proactive at all; he won't even walk through a door if it isn't open wide enough for him to fit through! He just stands there and waits! LOL

Wow Kaya is so smart. I'm glad she decided to let you back in again! But now do you have to worry about her letting herself out even when you've locked the door?

I think I must have looked like a real idiot to anyone driving past - standing on the front porch, gesturing like a mad woman and talking to myself Smile Oh, the shame.....

Ghost - fortunately the inside door handle is a knob, so she shouldn't be able to open it. There is also an outer glass screen door which has another type of latch.

glad you go back in! we also got locked out of the house cause of the dogs! is this another husky thing...
S&J caught a cat in the back yard, we got them inside to go clean it up and someone jumped up and locked the latch on the sliding back door! my husband had to craw into the garage to get the ladder to craw into our 2nd story bed room window that happened to be open cause the AC was vented out of it in the summer and got us back in the house, this happened in the morning and we were both late to work! we have a key hidden now just in-case.....
