Hello and welcome! wave Both of your furbabies are adorable!

What size AKK is that? I'm guessing Miniature? How tall and how much does he weigh? I am hoping to get an AKK (Miniature size) way in the future after my current pack is no longer around, but that will be years from now even though I'm doing my homework years in advance. It's nice to have a member with both!

Thank you everyone!! @huskyluv, Well you're researching is coming along well Smile ! He is indeed a miniature. He's 12lbs, & excuse that I forgot how tall he is when I measured him a few months ago lol. He's the biggest sweetheart you'll ever meet. Despite the normal breed temperament, he defies it all. He's actually great with all people(He doesn't have the little dog "I like my mommy and thats it" personality.(Sometimes I wish he did Razz) & Oddly enough he loves any type of animal you put in front of him. He showers it with kisses and tail wags. Its quite a cute site. Him & Juneau adore each other and are my dynamic duo.

Thanks a ton for all that information and sharing all the pics! Makes me want an AKK even more now. Lol I will have to show my husband the pics of the together. The AKK will be our compromise dog since he doesn't want a big husky and I don't like chihuahuas. I know good breeding and socialization can produce a very personable AKK. The hubby and I met a miniature 2 yrs ago and both of us fell in love with it.

How would you compare the shedding of an AKK to that of your sibe? That's one thing I haven't gotten clear answers on in my research.

Ahh! I love it! I'm hoping for a Klee Kai at some point, too. Juneau is such a beautiful girl! And I love Stark's bi-eyes! Which breeder did you get him from? He seems so familiar to me. Perhaps from the Klee Kai groups on FB?

Yes I'm part of the Alaskan Klee Kai group on facebook Smile His breeder is Ken Compton who owns Shalimar Acres in PA. Amazing breeder & highly recommended. He does a fantastic job showing & socializing his dogs. As far as shedding goes, he does. He is a northern breed so he has that thick plush double coat. However, its not AS BAD as a Juneau since, well he's smaller tongue Very easily taken care of with a bath and a brush or a trip to the groomers. I plan on getting another Klee Kai in the future as well. For showing purposes and of course to have as another little companion. Juneau by the way has a very adorable litter of 10 healthy puppies. Very Happy

I love that little copper boy! I love them all, really. Beautiful masks! I love how random genetics can be! All white female produces a litter of black pups with one red thrown in there. So many recessive genes floating around in that gene pool!

Surprisingly Juneau's mother was a copper & white. I'll post pictures of the Sire & Juneau's parents. Her father was a wooly coat.

I just love to research genetics so I love to see results of pairings. I know white's a mutation of the red color gene so I definitely expected her to produce some reds as long as the sire was a carrier, which clearly he must have been! I just think it's so crazy how only one pup got both red genes and everyone else is now a carrier for red! Thanks so much for sharing.

It's very interesting how it all works, agreed ^.^ We were all very excited to see the copper and white born first, followed by his 9 black and white siblings. A few of the black and whites I'm predicting will be dilute. I'm looking forward to sharing pictures of them as they grow & seeing how much they change. They are all very healthy. There are 2 very small ones, Balto & tiny, That I've been monitoring. I have formula and puppy bottles ready that I might just use so they can have a couple extra feedings.
