Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

When I made the decision to own a husky the first thing I did was go to my computer and research, research, research. Suffice to say that after a short Google search, I found my way here. I've been lurking on these forums for quite a while and reading the wealth of information contained here. Communities like this make it easier for people like me to dive in to puppy ownership. I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have taken the time to share your knowledge and consequently enrich the lives of dogs the world over - including this dog:

This is Ghost. We drove 8 hours round-trip yesterday to pick him up. We had an interesting, ummm, stop at a gas station. I knew when the woman we bought him from said, "Oh, he just ate," we were in for trouble. We stopped about 30 minutes after picking him up so that my partner and I could take turns using the restroom and when I came back out to the car I was greeted by, "Help me!" Apparently he needed to go to the bathroom and decided to poop all over her lap. I then picked him up to carry him over to a small grassy area and he proceeded to poop all over my shirt as well. And my pants. And the car. And the driveway. He pooped for what seemed like a good minute or two. (I later found out he had also been wormed just before we left with him, so I assume this is the reason things were so explosive! Razz ) I came prepared though! (Garbage bag, disinfecting wipes, towels, you name it.) We laughed the entire time we cleaned up. You've got to have a sense of humor about these things. Once we got everything cleaned up and piled back in the car this little angel slept almost the whole way home without a peep. Boy is he a snuggler! And excluding yesterdays special circumstance, he's gone potty outside ever since. He slept in his crate like a champ, LOVES his bed, and has taken to every toy he's had pushed under his nose as a replacement for fingers and furniture. He's certainly a handful, but one we were prepared for thanks for the helpful information here.

Welcome! He is a cutie. On our ride home Anna got up walked over to my boyfriend's lap, who was driving, and peed on him. It wasn't as easy to clean and we weren't as prepared. Hahaha.

Welcome!! I had an interesting first ride with Luna too, I lived on base at the time I picked her up and the gate guard held up traffic for about 5 minutes because he thought she was so adorable! But it sounds like you guys are off to a good start Very Happy

Greetings! We are right across the river in the metro-east.... We traveled to mid-Missouri to rescue Yuri out of a shelter near Lake of the Ozarks...the profile piccie is hii on the ride back. He was an angel on the ride back but has since become a bit more rambunctuous. But he has won our hearts and is our family now.
