Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| Welcome to our husky forum! My name's Sitka and I'm owned by Chad (although technically I own him...). This is simply the best place to be in the whole wide world. We're located all around the world, which is sometimes strange, but it works out anyway. Some forums will insist on remaining on topic and discussing things relevant to huskys. Around here that really only applies to the technical forums. To make an analogy, one might say that the technical forums are our house, but the off topic conversations are the dog park. Or maybe it's the other way around. I don't really know, I'm just a dog. I just know that this place starts with huskys, but it's really about happy people. Anyway, everyone is really sweet and if you tilt your head just the right way and whimper, sometimes they'll give you treats. Every so often there is a little drama. When the drama gets mean, I usually hide in my kennel. When people shout I'm sad. When the drama gets particularly bad we toss them into "The Doghouse" where it is doomed to stay forever. They say that anyone can give "treats" to any other member if they particularly like what someone is saying. They also say that if someone is acting dishonest or foolish they can take away treats. When I don't get treats I'm normally being punished for pooping in the house. So my advice is don't poop in the house and you'll get treats! Isn't life as a dog easy! I can't really tell people how to behave because sometimes I still poop in the house. But the forum mainly works a little differently from other forums. The big people around here usually use whole words, and shortcuts like "ur" or "ppl" are discouraged. Punctuation and avoiding the caps lock key are fairly important as well. I know it can be tricky, but please appreciate the fact that I'm doing it with fat paws. There's always room for more in the crew. Introduce yourself in The Doggie Door forum. Tell us about yourself! And please, scratch my belly and give me sausages A lot of the people around here join in the holiday hijack. Around the start of the work day someone starts a thread with a correlating holiday (ie. 3/6/09- Sherlock Holmes Day). It's not really the holiday that's the point of the "holiday hijack", it's used more as a starting point that is supposed to initiate conversation throughout the day. The intent of this is to give them a new place to talk about absolutely nothing of consequence. If you see news stories that catch your eye, current events that you would like to discuss, interesting foods consumed or just random things going on in your day to day life then post them in the hijack and we can all talk about them. It's also a really good way to get to know our members on a more personal level. Well, enjoy your stay here! Chad is going to get mad when he sees that I've been on the computer again. He hasn't learned that I can get out of my kennel whenever I please, so do me a favor and don't tell him. -Sitka _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. | I was only trying to figure out my new puppy, however I think I might get more out of this place than just great information. Thanks for the welcome. And Sitka you are gorgeous. |
