1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Not because they have bad owners or anything but because Karli can be a poopyhead sometimes (I'm not kidding!!!) Its usually at the dog park, she gets right in everyone's face so they'll play with her and I know this is a puppy thing and I'm totally OK with the older dogs putting her in her place, but their owners get upset when that happens. There was one on Tuesday I just felt horrible. Karli kept going back to her (Alaya, female husky) to play, she would respond, end up pinning Karli and then get in trouble by her owner for pinning Karli (Karli has a butt-ton of neck fur, she's not gonna hurt her.) The other gentleman that comes with his two huskies totally understands and we encourage his female (Maggie, she's top dog at the park and every other dog there knows it) to put Karli in her place because how else is she gonna learn? She's very good at surrendering. I'm just sad when other dogs get punished because Karli doesn't know when enough is enough. They call her a ping pong dog at the park because of how fast she moves lol.

when you see owners correcting their dog with how they are acting towards your dog thats also a good time for you to step in and try to correct Karli as well, its not good to be know as the lady with the bossy husky, now i know when we have our meet ups no one really corrects the huskies "playing" with the other huskies, now if the owner is a husky owner and is trying to correct them playing with your husky you might just want to say hey they are both huskies and playing no need to stop them from having fun, i have run into other husky owners that seem clueless!

O I correct her, the guy that goes there has a 10+ yr old husky who I make sure to keep Karli away from, there's no need for her to get in his face at all. And she's learning that, but its the other huskies she's playing with and I think this lady is just afraid I'll get mad at her dog for pinning Karli when in all reality that's what needs to happen lol.

When that happens, I just tell the people, "Oh, don't worry about it, somebody's gotta put him in his place or he'll never learn!" They usually just back off. They are usually more worried about me getting all pissy at them, but once they know that I'm okay with it, they tend to relax more.

Granted, if something seems like it's going to set off a fight, I'll step in, but generally Stark would need to learn his place in the dog park pack. Smile
