Hello. Smile my D'artagnan is about 65 lbs, and I plan on making a trip to Missouri this summer while my husband is gone. I was wondering what would be the best kennel to get him?

I was a little thrown off by the title of your post when I saw Missouri, then I saw where you are now and it made more since. Lol. I was like Missouri isn't very "down south"! XD

Anyway, most of us (at least I'm assuming) use wire crates for our pups. A 36" x 24" crate is usually big enough for a husky, depending on how tall and how much room you have in your vehicle. If your dog isn't crate trained though, I'm not entirely sure how that will work because they don't always take well to being crated out of the blue. You may want to get one now and work on crate training before you make the trip so he can get used to it.

I have a couple of questions?? Will you be driving? or flying??

If driving do you plan on putting him in the crate in the car?? If flying I was be very careful if it was me..

You probably can use a wire crate if driving?? If flying you will need a airline approved crate.
You probably can use a 36" wire crate or 42" one...

I am sure other will have other good information..

Haha yes. We'd be flying. And we're in Alaska. Smile It's cheaper for us to just fly there. Canada can e tricky. Weve had him crate trained sibce we got him so He's very good in the wire crate we have in our home, we just need to know which size would be best (airline approved) for him.

There are airline approved crates you can get at pet stores and big box stores.

If I were you I would do my research on the airline you are flying on find out how they handle dogs in the cargo section. Also what time of the year will you be coming to Missouri watch the forecast find out the high temps for that time of year..

I have read several stories about dogs not making it flying it the airline did not handle the dog correctly in very high temps.
