| Bandit's currently giving us a NEW headache lol! He found a hole under our back fence and escaped 2x. Since then, we've covered the hole with large branches and cinderblocks but last night we caught him hanging on the fence! He'd climbed on top of the branches and cinderblocks and climbed partway over the fence! He hadn't been outside by himself for more than 20 min too! It just never ends with this kid lol
anyways, I'm wondering if anybody has ideas on how we can stop this. The entire fence is chain-link but the far back corner is the only place he tries to escape through. He gets exercise and lots of treats and attention, so its not like he's running away from some awful 3rd world prison. I'm just concerned now that I'm going to have to be a helicopter-mom, constantly monitoring him while he's outside.
any advice on fixing the fence and/or training is greatly appreciated! |

| I'm sorry I have nothing to say which will help. But I would love to see a pic or vid of Bandit climbing the fence! Next time, take a picture, then yell at him Scott |

| I don't know if this solution will work for you, it has for us. We used 3 foot weld wire fence and bent it at a 90 degree angle. It adds 2 feet of height to the chain link fence and hangs over into the yard a foot. It is not pretty but it is effective! |

| I inherited a climber, literally found him dumped out near our house. We strung hot wire around the top and middle of the fence and it has kept him in so far. We also had to put a wire mesh lid on his kennel to keep him in. |

| I just learned about a coyote roller system - pretty cool idea - a rolling bar along the top line of the fence - google it and see it - but Sarahs idea would work too - make sure they have nothing to climb on (branches, cinderblock) to get up high enough to get to the top of the fence - google some husky escape videos too - you will be AMAZED at what they can do!! they can clear 6 foot fences no problem if they want to - how tall is your fence?? and chain link they can climb too - best of luck!!! and yes take a pic next time if you can......... just dont let him get out!!! |

| also, doesnt matter how much they love you and theur home - they are meant to wander - miles a day is what they require......... its in their blood - and once they get out they usually just keep going - dont look back - until they are too far away - and by then, they are lost......how old is the little cutie? is your avatar a current picture?? he looks so sweet! Please be careful not to let him out........ |

Scott I kinda had a little chuckle at the thought of seeing him hanging off the fence trying to escape. I could see Ani trying to do that. |
