2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Found on craigslist. I'm calling the shelter tomorrow to see if they still need a foster. I just can't believe someone would shave a dog like this. Without the fur it's hard to tell but he looks like a shepherd/husky mix to me. what do you guys think? poor baby either way.

I replied to the post, hopefully the person gets back to me. I'd hate for this guy to spend anymore time at the pound.

That's just terrible! Poor pup.
Crystal, do you live near Chula Vista? I was born there and lived there until I was in the 1st grade. I hope they contact you back.

i'm about 20 min north of chula vista. We just got stationed here a month ago.

The lady did get back to me and said she will help gt the shelter to give me the dog. Apparently they do not open until tuesday., but i'm going to try the after hours number to see if i can get him now just in case.

The person who posted the picture said it was someone she knew who found the dog. I really wish they had not brought it to the shelter. I'd have that puppy in my home by now.

The shelter thinks he is a 1 yr old shiba inu. If all goes well i should be getting the little guy on Tuesday. Now i just need to think of a name Smile The people who found him said he just jumped in their car and was super friendly it makes me wonder about the age, also the size looks small for a full grown shiba but it could just be because he has no hair. They put a sweater on him at the shelter.

Shiba Inus are small dogs....full grown they are typically between 20 and 25 pounds.

Congrats and good for you! It's sad that someone shaved him, but his coat should grow back in no time.

My parents have Shiba. She's been a great dog for them. They have to keep her on the leash at all times, though. She will just run.

i think he will make a perfect partner in crime for Dakota lol I'm really excited now. I'm torn between being excited and trying not to get my hopes up in case the shelter decides no to give him back to the person who found him. The guy who found him is going to give him to me. If they won't let him have the dog back then i'm going to try to adopt him through the shelter.

Has anyone had experience with getting a dog you gave to a shelter back? I'm not even sure it's possible.

I think you have a to pay a boarding fee when you try to get the dog back, but I'm not sure if its the same for someone who is getting back a dog they turned in and not a dog that was found and reported lost.

With our "dog pound" you have to pay a boarding fee because the "pound" is at the vet. Doesn't matter if it was a stray or they picked up your dog. Other then that I have no idea. They are all different. It depends if they are actual dog shelters, or like an ACO type building.

My girl I adopted from a shelter was just an adoption fee, nothing else.
