So a few days ago I noticed a small bump on Loki's paw.  I pointed it out to Kevin, who said let's watch it but it is probably a bug bite (Kevin and I are covered in Mosquito bites). So this morning will playing with Loki before work I looked at his paw and it doesn't look like it getting any better.  I plan on make a vet appointment for Saturday but in the meantime anyone know what it could be. I'm freaking myself out thinking tumor or something else that could be as equally horrible. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

*edit* Was able to get him an appointment on Tuesday. All the vets but 2 are on vacation so they are filled up.

Looks like it could be from a cat fight? If you have cats? I know Rue had something similar and we surmised that it was from our cat attacking him cause he pissed the cat off. We cleaned it and it seemed to get better over time.

So last night vet visit went good. She did a general exam of him and is amazed at how healthy and beautiful his coat is looking. Poor thing screamed like a banshee when they took his temperature, it didn't help that Kevin was saying "exit only, exit only". Got 2 boosters shots for Lyme and Influenza and blood drawn to test for heart worms (something they do when all of their patients hit 1 year, 5 years, etc) and fecal test. She sat on the floor and tried to calm him because he did not like being manhandled (she checked he heart, ears, hips and knees). So she looked at his foot. Apparently it is happens it young dogs ages 1-4 quite often, much like an allergic reaction. It is a build up of histamines and causes a mass and normally goes away on its own in 3~5 weeks. More then likely Loki got bit by a bug and his body reaction badly is how she put it. She gave us an antihistamines and said if it doesn't get better in a few weeks to come back and she will get cells from it to test. So I'll just watch and wait.
