Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

well i have had balto for about two weeks now and hes a really fast learner.we start puppy traning tonight. but so far he learned sit within five minutes of me teaching it two him, he learned sit faster then he learned his name lol! but sometimes does "paw" not every time which is ok and learned "come". he also learned that if he goes near my other dogs bowl and i say "balto bowl" hell walk over to his instead of taking hers. hes doing pretty well with his crate and potty training but has accidents now and again but i figured that would take a little bit of time. the two "real" problems I am having is that balto and or family dog wolfie are not getting along. wolfie is ten and balto is 8 weeks all he wants to do is play and all she wants to do is relax, she also has become very jealous even though i have paid the same and even more attention to her but i guess thats how its gonna be for a little bit. the other problem i have is that he only listens and comes if i call him. i dont think thats a huge problem right now its most likely because im with him all the time but if im not there i want him to listen to my mom or sisters or whoever. also i will be putting new pictures up as soon as possible.

Are you the main one taking care of him? If you are then have your mom and sisters help with feeding, playing, training so that he learns to include them in the pack....Stryker doesn't listen to people he doesn't know which I find comes in handy in case anyone tries to steal him, he'll just look at them like they're nuts

my mom watches him if im not around and he does listen but not everytime but you can for sure tell the difference between when i call him and she calls him. i think the puppy training classes might help with that a bit. and thats true because one day a few years ago someone tried to steal our older dog out of our back yard
