HEY GUYS.

So, Kingsley is about 6.5 months. Here's a picture just for fun:
Sudden & Frequent Whining FOR NO APPARENT REASON JEEZ 972186_734490135747_494767445_n

Anyway, all of a sudden out of nowhere, he's had an increase in whining. In the car, just laying around the living room without any obvious reason, in the middle of the night in his crate (he's NEVER cried in his crate before at night, so this is a BRAND new behavior).

I was just wondering if this is a common behavior for his age group. I know that there are certain "fear stages", but I'm unsure of the the time frame.

So, just to clarify, he's always been a quiet angel in the car, has always always slept the entire night in his crate without any whining, so these are brand new behaviors. (I know, we totally lucked out.)

Help?

Gracias!

Dont mean to worry you but.. He could be in pain from something or not feeling good. Has he been to the vet recently?

Yeah, he was at the vet a few weeks ago and again this morning (for something completely unrelated). Haha, so it can't be pain.

I don't know what it could be but Nunya whines ALL THE TIME. It's so annoying. He whines when he has to go outside, which I guess is better than not signaling at all but the pitch is terrible, he whines in the car because he wants to get where ever we're going, he whines when he's excited, and he whines when he wants anything. He developed it at around seven months. Snoopy, Snoopy barks and smashes his head into me, which can hurt but it's less annoying than the whining.

Link does the whining in the car. Haven't figured out why yet, haha.

edit - well, most the time when we're in the car we're going to the dog park, so I think he whines out of excitement because he knows where we're going.

It still could be pain. I'd run a panel just to make sure everything is running smoothly and there are no organ issues. Could also be the dog is bored or under exercised.

Another common reason for dogs whining when they normally wouldn't, can also be back/neck pain. What's his activity level like since the new behaviors started?

His activity is pretty normal. He sleeps until 10am, lounges around and naps on and off until about 4. Is hyper until about 8 then bed time. I'll romp around in the yard with him and we'll go to the dog park like once or twice a week.
