Seconded. It wasn't useless at all, and that's really a crappy position to be in. Check out Northern Exposure Siberian Husky Rescue on Facebook as well, I'm sure Bette will help if she's able but they are a little further away in New Jersey.

I have raynauds too, and understand about the cold.

When we decided to get a dog (a sled dog no less), I knew I needed some extreme gear.

I did a lot of research, and Ll beans warmest coat was highly recommended by others with Raynauds. At $400, it was out of my price range, but I kept scouring eBay and got one for $75. I usually strap on a heating pad to help produce heat for the coat to keep in when I cant.

I bought a cheap balaclava from Walmart to keep my face and ears covered... it helps immensely.

I haven't had any luck with gloves, so I use disposable hand warmers... you can get them in the camping section of stores like Walmart or target or online in bulk.

My coat has deep pockets, and with the warmers tucked in, even my permanently icy hands are snug.

On bad days, I even tuck the warmers in my boots.

Raynauds sucks. With a sled dog its difficult, but with some bundling and warmers, you can make it work.

When I was walking Dizzy last night, I ran into a lady with heated gloves. I'm definitely going to be checking those out today.

For some reason the hand warmers always go cold on me, unless I just got a cheap pair or something. I'll have to try it again.

Are you serious?! That sounds amazing. Now I've got to go check it out too. xD

Even if I do find him a home, it'd be beneficial to me to learn to cope for small walks in the cold, at least for my own benefit. And I'm addicted to power walking for some reason. I miss it terribly right now. I'm also going to miss having a dog to keep me company, but I don't think 30 minute walks were cutting it with him anyway.

I've also got a horse that I have to discontinue all training with in the cold. I'd love to be able to focus all attempts in the cold to his training, but I'm always juggling the two of them. Thankfully the horse is boarded somewhere so I'm not forced to go out, but I still hate losing everything I was working on. He was yet  another pet I was not prepared for, but a surprise Christmas gift last year. I always feel guilty working with him, when I know I've got a dog at home that needs to get out.

Why don't you work them together? We ride and have the dogs on a long leash fairly often. It took a bit to get both the horses and the siberians used to the arrangement, but now they enjoy getting out together.

I've though about that, but I don't have a good setup for it. We're in an arena with barely any trails unless we walk the roads to get there. Plus, my horse isn't fully broke yet. I've never brought him out on the trails. That would be totally cool though.
