So I gave Zoey a bath and blow out the other day, and I thought she was looking pretty good. Pictures aren't too great because I was alone and trying to hold onto her while getting a straight forward shot.

She's a little over 3 years now.

This is Kaiser at 1 year 5 months. He isn't stacked or anything, these are just a couple of candids I took of him during his romp through the field the other day. I'd be interested in seeing his faults and his advantages.

Puppies over 8 weeks old are almost impossible to evaluate on pictures alone due to wonky growth phases.

Im taking her to a AKC kennel club next week to start her training and getting her evaluated but what do you think thus far of her? I think her ears are big but im hoping as she gets bigger they fit her head more.

Yes her ears are too big right now, and not well furred. Her eyes appear too round as well. Nothing else can be evaluated IMO from the photos provided.

Where is she from? Is she from a show kennel?

Birmingham, Alabama she came from a kennel that mainly had performance dogs and obedience dogs, but I am really considering having her in conformation competitions, which is why i am getting her evaluated next week from a AKC kennel club

So, here's a conformation question that I think belongs in this thread. Can someone explain what is desirable in terms of the croup? To me, it seems like there is a big difference between the show line dogs and the sledding line dogs in the croup. Thanks for the help!

IMO, a lot of show dogs have incorrect croups...this is often due to the flashy look it creates in the side gait; however, it is incorrect.

Here is Bane...I think it will be a little too young to really evaluate him at this point. He is either months old on the 10th. I do realize that the tail touching the back is an AKC disqualification, is this something that he could possibly outgrow?

Willow wasn't having any of the picture taking today. But I do have a picture of her face/head if anyone would like to comment on how she looks thus far? This was taken just the other night, and if need be I can zoom in on it a little more.

The only disqualification in the breed is a height DQ.

His tail would be considered a fault but not a DQ.

Ok that's good to know. I haven't measured how tall he is, but for being eight months old, he's pretty tall already...

Though his tail may not be an official DQ, a breeder judge will more than likely excuse him from the ring. It is a major fault. More than likely it will get worse with age instead of better judging by the high set.

As for Willow the only thing I can see from that photo is her ear set is too wide. 5 months is a bad time to try any evaluation-

Now that Loki has gotten a bit older I decided to ask what everyone thought his weak and strong points were. I will have to get some better photos later on, as these are not on even ground, has had leash removal from in front of him, he needs brushed, ect. But they should work to get a main idea? Smile

I was hoping someone could critique Murphy. I think I know what her weak point are (and there are quite a few...), but I'd like to test myself and see if you agree.

Here is a stack (not the best and not groomed, sorry).

Can't tell anything from those pictures, unfortunately.  If he is still with the breeder you should request stacked pictures (full side view).  The breeder should really already have these (he/she should have been working with the pups all along) and the final evaluation for a show prospect pup shouldnt really be done until the 8 week mark anyway.
