Worried about my pup Empty
PostSubject: Worried about my pup   Worried about my pup EmptyThu Aug 22, 2013 10:33 am

I have a 10 week old female pup that has been on raw for about a week now. She absolutely loves it! But I have a few concerns/ questions.

My main concern- I've noticed since we've started raw, Mishka has been coughing occasionally. Well its not really coughing, more like clearing her throat. Sometimes she has a small amount of bile. Is this normal?

Secondly, what should I supplement with. I already to coconut oil and I have Apple Cider Vin, but I can't figure out how to get her to eat the Vinegar. She HATES it! Any suggestions?

Thanks!

She might throwing up bile because of the increase in stomach acid from the raw feeding. It could also meat that you are not feeding her often enough. Anya had a slight cough for a couple days when she was around 10 weeks or so. I gave her a tsp of raw honey twice a day and it cleared up right away.

How often are you feeding your pup? Going too long between meals could cause the bile.

How are you currently giving the ACV? Putting a small amount in the water bowl and working up to your desired amount over time is one suggestion.

She's getting fed three times a day plus training treats in between. Going to try the ACV in her water. Thanks!

I've been adding the ACD to her water and things seem much better! We started adding in other proteins yesterday too! She's loving it!
