I dont really see this as too much of a problem. I just think its werid and want opinions on the reasoning. Koda has always done pretty well in his crate. He knows when i say "house" it means go in his crate. He knew that since he was 3 or 4 months. From about 6 months till 9 months he was very good a night in his crate. Sometimes he would wine for a few seconds but will go to sleep and usually sleep through night unless he has to go to bathroom. The last month he started a werid habbit. Before bed i take him outside to potty, and then to say goodnite to my rents (he loves saying goodnight to them). We would go downstairs and I would say house he will go in and wait for his bed time treat. I give it to him, cover his crate and turn fan on. Same ritual for months. But he whines, and whines non stop for atleast 20-30 minites usually. I noticed that if i take him outsise one more time. Somtimes he goes very little, usually he doesnt go at all. Ill put him right back in his crate and he goes to sleep no whining at all... Its so werid. Sometimes it wouldnt even be 5 min between me taking him out and it works.. He doesnt do this every night but id say 5-6 days a week this happens.

Kind of sounds like a routine for him. You keep letting him out when he whines the first time, so he keeps doing it. Have you tried not taking him out a couple times?

Do you leave water in his crate overnight? I know Dizzy will whine for water if I don't put it in his crate with him. I've done that since he was about 4 months old, and he's never had an accident. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and hear him slurping away.

I have let him whine it out. He eventually stops after a while. And i bet if i let him go for a couple nights in a row he will stop but i just think its a weid habbit for him to start out of no where. I have never left water in his crate with him. Ive thoght a few times mayne he was thirsty but when he comes out he doesnt go to the water bowl at all.
