| Hi Husky community, my 6 1/2 month old husky pup is have some strange crate training problems. The main issue is that he gives off no warnings that he wants to go poop or pee untill AFTER hes done it and hes stepping all over it. I take him out every 4-5 hours so his peeing has become less of a problem; the issue lies with his defecation. Just this beginning of the week, he stopped eating his food as i normally give it to him (I have a food schedule for him). Because of this, his pooping is irregular as now he eats when he "feels" like it cause i don't really want him to starve. I really need help to train him to bark or do something so I know when to take him out! (I cant be ALWAYS there to watch him circle around and then poop). |

| I would suggest you give him a certain amount of time to eat his food. If he doesn't eat it, pick up his bowl and put it away until his next feeding is scheduled. Don't worry, he won't starve. During his next feeding he should be hungry enough and he will eat his food. If not, pick it up again until his next feeding. He might be holding out for some special type of food. Trust me, he won't starve himself forever.
I had a similar problem recently and now Lycus is eating his food like he used to.
Good luck! |

| Not sure where you are located but I live in Mississippi and my Dragon used to eat like a horse when we first got him last November. It gets VERY humid and hot in the 'Sip during the summer (anywhere from late April to early October) and when it started reaching some 100 degree weather in June he stopped eating the way he used to. It could be that your pup is just hot and the heat sometimes causes huskies (and other dogs) to stop eating the way they used to because they lose their appetite. I would try feeding him at certain times so that you know when he will need to go, and if he doesn't eat, he doesn't eat. Believe me, he will eat at some point. He will be just fine if he misses a meal. Also, if you're worried about him being hungry, try putting some cold yogurt mixed into his food to see if that helps. Dragon LOVES yogurt. It is cold and yummy so he will probably come running. It is also mild enough for husky tummies to not make him sick. If that doesn't work, don't freak out, he is probably just hot. Hope this helps. I'd stick to a regular schedule for this guy. He's handsome! |
