Livewires Rise of the Phoenix (AKA, Phoenix)!!!!

We are super happy! I tried to post this sooner, but have been having trouble getting my pictures off of my phone. I just have a few to post.  I am hoping to post in that very long Show/conformation thread to see what you all think of her, show-wise. There will be more pics to come ASAP, but I at least wanted to get these up today.

It was a very long car ride to the Nationals in San Diego and we honestly had to turn around and come home a couple of hours after we got there, so I wasn't able to seek anyone out or get any updates, so I apologize for that, as well.

Thank you, Sara! I am having trouble getting stuff to upload. I just got one pic off of my photobucket. We are about to put puppy in her kennel with a frozen Kong while we go trick or treating. I will post a new thread with pics as soon as I can figure out what the problem is.

PS: She is so cute and naughty and we are In LOVE! I love you

Aww, thank you Amy! It is not your imagination...she does have liver point. Her face is quite red, her back has hints of red and a lot of silver. But technically, she is a little redhead, LOL. She acts like one, too. (I can say that, because I'm also a redhead, haha.) Wink

I saw the reddish in her nose, but just thought it wasnt fully black because she is still young, I would have never guessed she'd be red, I really never knew reds could have black markings/masks, thats pretty cool!!!

Hi Jimmy,

She really takes after the Koobear in her line and they have quite a few light reds. Her sire's line is more on the gray side, which I think shows up a bit, with what I call the teddy bear mask, as well. She's not a super dark red, it's very light and isn't supposed to turn orangeish in the sun like a lot of reds do. It's hard to see her true color in these pictures. Glad you like her! Smile

Thank you, Jimmy. Aw, I know...I just want to freeze time. Sad Someone mentioned getting lots of video and I did a Introducing Our New Puppy... 1625187496 because we really haven't done that yet. Gotta get plenty of puppy video! Like you, I am looking forward to seeing how she grows and changes, but man, I love this stage, naughtiness and all! I love you

She has coloring similar to Ami - a soft light red with the edges being a lovely soft taupe color. Though Ami's back is getting some nice cinnamon color on his back now that he's done blowing his coat.

You know, I was thinking the same thing. I love Ami's soft, wooley coat, he is so gorgeous! It's funny because one of Phoenix's siblings is totally wooley, but a dark gray. Her breeder wonders where the heck that wooley coat came from, as it is not in their line at all. She totally reminds me a lot of Ami, as well.

I, too, wonder where the heck that coat came from Razz It was not there when we got him at 1 yr old - the shelter told us he had almost no fur when they seized him. And I told hubby, "grooming is a snap - a quick brush over once a week or less and he's fine" Introducing Our New Puppy... 1625187496 NOT.

Oh well. We love him to pieces and he is gorgeous in motion - when he runs his coat just ripples in the wind.

LOL, Amy! Murphy's Law, huh? Wink I wonder if he had been shaved at some point and his normal coat eventually grew back out? I know it's impossible to know for sure, but that sounds plausible to me.

Not shaved - he was terribly neglected when they seized him. Tied to a short leash, in the sun, no shade, malnourished. It took them a month before he was healthy enough to be neutered.

Omgosh, poor Ami! Sad In that case, maybe just being in better health, due to your excellent care, has allowed his coat to grow in the way it should have in the first place.
