2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. 7 month old puppy waddle. Empty
PostSubject: 7 month old puppy waddle.   7 month old puppy waddle. EmptyTue Aug 16, 2016 5:23 pm

Good day everyone.

My 7 month old female "Tundra" is a barrel full of energy and seems to be a happy healthy pup,

Though when it comes to my dog I am a bit of a hypochondriac.

She is 7 months old and is still walking with a puppy waddle, I thought she would have grown out of it by now .

She doesn't limp and she runs like a bat out of hell at the park, in fact running is the only time she truely looks coordinated.

I am just asking if any of you had a dog waddle at this age? I am hoping it is not a hip or joint issue, she is lean and both parents were certified excellent.

At 7 months a growth spurt could be coming on or she could be in the middle of one that could cause the waddling. They can get pretty gangly for a while as they hit the teenage phase. Ears all out of proportion and legs seem longer than normal. It has been a while since I had a puppy though so I'm not real familiar with when they should fall out of the waddle.

That being said, just because the parents hips are great and she is lean doesn't mean that trauma can't throw things out of whack. Kinda like us when our back gets thrown out. We may not hurt but it can change our gait which we will feel in the long run. Rough play or falling awkwardly off a porch could move things on her. Genetic Hip Dysplasia won't usually show itself until around 2 years old. I don't think I would concern myself with that at her age. It might be worth a look though to make sure she hasn't thrown something out of whack though while horsing around.
