Rash on my huskies lower lip Empty

Rash on my huskies lower lip Img_7512Need some help with my baby Brock. Brock is a 8 year old Siberian husky. He suffers with allergies and itchy skin. My dog is so sensitive to meds, foods, anything that doesn’t sit right he throws up. This rash showed up out of no where. It started with small yellow crusty flaky skin that was ichty around his mouth. Since April, I have been cleaning it with an anti microbial wipes everyday it has chlorhexidine and ketoconazole in it. I have been adding coconut oil to reduce the red inflamed skin.

Fast forward to now, it’s been 2 months since I have been cleaning it. (Its not itchy to Brock anymore)It looks way more inflamed and it has spread more down . When I clean it brown skin peels off and a black color now appears around his lip.

I am worried I’m over cleaning it and I’m making it worse? Or if my baby has a Zinc deficiency? Reaching out if anyone has dealt with this or experienced this with any of your animals. I just can’t put him on antibiotics because he is so hypersensitive throws up and liver ALT goes up! Any advice will help. Thank you.

Hang in here, while I haven't there are folks who have dealt with Zinc Deficiency who'll be able to guide you ... from the symptoms, that's what it sounds like, btw.

it could be zinc. I use a product called zinpro by Boreal for my female who when younger showed signs of zinc deficiency. Once cleared up I stopped giving it to her and haven't had issues since.

zinpro is great, jack was on it for all his life once we ruled out everything else and landed on a zinc issue. he also had a chicken allergy and some filler issues in food, so he was on a limited ingredient food for the last few yrs that also kept the zinc outbreaks down.
i would give it a go, i got it on amazon, he got 1/2 tablespoon every day, some dogs need more, others less.

So I discovered my dog actually has this issue too... was wondering if the discoloration on her lower lip was just some mark, but no it looks like this zinc rash.

I bought the zinpro tablets. Been giving her one a day for two days now. She seems to have no issue with that. Thinking I should up it to two a day as the directions say? How long does it take to see if this affects the rash?

Slowly work up to the directed amount. Too fast and it may cause stomach upset. It took a couple months I think before I started to see things settle down with mine.
